Looking on FB I'd seen an old friend posting photos of her grandmothers funeral earlier today. I'm aware she has family abroad so possibly could've been sharing the images so they could see them, although there were also photos of her and her partner beforehand posing? Just wondered if others would post similar photos or choose to hold back. |

I remember years ago before FB a Nigerian friends elderly relative died and the funeral was filmed and sent over to Nigeria for others to watch who couldn't make it. But although I didn't 'look' at the pics today they were right there when I checked my messages earlier, didn't have much choice  |

It would never occur to me to take a photo at a funeral. Or immediately before or after a funeral. Although it's the only time I see my extended family so maybe we should start  |

Didn't they have a sign-in book? At the funerals my family has they always have a sign-in book so we can send out thank you mail after.

Yes there was a book of condolences and my mum carried out the funeral.. Even the funeral directors were a tad shocked to see she was d*unk before the actual funeral. |

Some people use Facebook to store photos as well as share them with family. Especially if they have family a long distance away.
However, not sure if it's really the done thing to take photos at funerals |

Yep, including referring to the death before very close family members had been told resulting in them finding out from a Facebook status. |
