"Both have their merits but marvel has more good characters but way too many alternate universes, dc has a few stand out characters"
DC will be bigger next year as its only getting started with the whole universe..., I think.
Just got my planet hulk edition to read. . |

Dc is getting bigger because of the tv shows I think. It's great the way the link up but marvel has a bigger cinema presence, but again this is still tiny compared to the comic market marvel has. There are some great independent comics on the market |

One thing that marvel is definitley doing right is linking their shows up to the movies whereas the DC shows are separate which in my opinion was a bad move by Warner bros |

"I don't know? Marvel shows tend to be more dark, take daredevil, but the dc shows seem more family friendly...wider audience?"
Hmmm I think it's the other way around.. With movies.. I think daredevil was dark because they wanted more dark characters in it... Like the punisher |

Agents of shield isn't dark.
Gotham is quite dark. What other shows do dc have. |

"For us probably Marvel as it has the greater spread of characters. DC has a few awesome one but once past those it tends to be weaker."
That's very true! |

DC are very grim.. Sometimes that makes for more intense story telling but I'd still rather the lightheartedness of marvel
Currently reading the civil war storyline, gas craic |

Daredevil was dark for marvel, but dc are more consistently dark..

DC heroes don't ever evolve or up date that much
Has to be marvel cos
1)got 2000 comics and 90% are marvel
2)heroes seem to work better on big screen.
Omg I could go on for hours
But then o was reading DC and marvel way before it was cool |

It's all about DC!
Better story telling and darker characters in my opinion.
Marvel seems more family-friendly (which isn't a bad thing!) but, to me, their comics/films/shows might as well be about rainbows and unicorns in comparison. |

Watch daredevil and Jessica Jones then let's talk!
The MCU is very poster paint colours at the moment but marvel itself has very dark characters, blade, the punisher, etc
With the exception of the dark knight trilogy and the new superman dc has always been very colourful |

My next tattoo is a half sleeve based on the dark phoenix rising artwork. Can't wait!
It's not that I dislike DC I just feel like the majority of their characters are too samey and their villains are lame |

DC all the way, the might have wank names apart from the obvious ones, but I enjoy it because it's more darker than Marvel, saying that, I'm getting very moist for the Deadpool film |

Fan of both but prefer the darker tone set by DC.
Next year is gonna be amazing.
Just hate it when people say DC is copying Marvel. Both have wanted to Avengers/Justice League movies for years. DC didn't go this route as quick simply because Nolan was doing Batman, and he didn't want his Batman setup in a world of Aliens so until his movies were over, they couldn't really start properly.
Plus had Heath Ledger lived, the 3rd Batman was gonna focus on the Riddler.
DC don't have to copy Marvel, think their plan is going well, Man of Steel, straight to Batman v Superman,Suicide squad, Wonder woman, then Justice league |
