Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
It really is the Emerald Isle. Such a beautiful looking country.
I've only been to NI - Belfast and along the coast to the Giant's Causeway. Now I really want to see the rest.
Sell me Ireland. |

My ex husband was born in Ballymena. His mum was from Northern Ireland, his dad from Dublin.
God, we had some amazing parties over in Dublin.
They were great |

The first time I went to Belfast, a couple of years ago, I had a fabulous time dancing to the live music in a bar.

"My ex had family in a back of beyond farming community about 40 miles outside Cork
I never thought I would suffer culture shock so close to home "
I think that is part of what makes me want to go - it appears to be another world and yet part of the island is part of the UK still.

3 of her Uncles still lived together on the farm
It had no heating and water was from a well in the garden
They cooked in a pot over an open fire
2 of the Uncles kept the farm, the other worked in the next town 14 miles away - he walked to work and back |

" That sounds nice, always be prepared for the weather thou, we went In june and I remember one day it was A normal dry day we were out in the Car and I have never since seen hail stones the ones that came down on us in the car, they were the size of old half crowns if not bigger, they did,t half thump the car If you had been out in that you would have got hurt, but It did add to the holiday for me, the Cloud came dead low over the top of us It was almost unreal and was soon over Thankfully, I always say different locations can hold surprises depending On the terrain and makeup of the area Where the weather can play its part too, surreal things like that are always Interesting I find, I hope you Like your visit there lickety. |

I've only been to Northern Ireland, which a really enjoyed. However I'm always put of from taking a holiday in Ireland, Northern or Southern, as it's one of the few places on earth where it's even more likely to be raining than it is at home. |
