Watchmen..
basically just because of its depth, while I like a few of marvels(not really that keen on the latest ones), I think watchmen really has a realness to it.. |

right now I'm watching back to back jessica jones!
I hated the flaws in the avengers movies etc..especially as the military still send in y soldiers to combat an alien race..yet in iron man...theyed built semi decent arsenal and drones based on iron mans suit!...

If imagine they all got banned after they went and killed all those people....
Against an unknown technologically superior enemy drones could be a liability.
What Pisces me off in Jessica Jones and daredevil is, is where the fuck is shield?
In that agents of shield they made them out to know everything in the films they have near unlimited resources but they fail to be interested in the highly publicised broadcast on the radio issue of a man who can control minds???

They over egged shield tbh I think mostly because sheild/agents of sheild is the "kids show" so needs to be full of tech and easy ways out for the writers.
Daredeveil/jj are more grown up so they don't want that stuff but it's part of the universe now |

never cared who directed...but I just dont think anyone can argue it isnt the deepest graphic novel/comic book film ever...it has so much going on it questions everything from humanity,religion,political...
in fact some of it appears to be echoing current world affairs..in my opinion.. |

There is a specific edit of Watchmen called the Midnight Edit - it comes in at about 3 hours long and takes the original edit, adds about an extra 40 minutes and re-sequences it to something far closer to the comic book.
Its very good and I highly recommend it. |

Dredd 3D was great, the first Iron Man was okay but all in all the Marvel films are fairly terrible like the Avengers, Captain America etc, all utter dross
Yes I know Dredd is DC
But now that I've been reminded of DC films...
Batman: Dark Knight, simply because Heath Lefger was phenomenal
Man of Steel cos I fancy Any Adams, and it's actually quite an enjoyable movie |

Guardians of the Galaxy. Brilliant film and reminds me of last summer, listening to the soundtrack on holiday and all the kids singing along!! Whenever I hear the music it takes me straight back to that holiday. |

The first Darkman movie with Liam Neeson.
Brilliant action but with some great black humour.
I can't even remember how many times I've seen it over the years.
I know what the earlier poster means about Tom Hardy's Bane as for me it completely destroyed that Batman film and made it pretty much unwatchable as it was a pretty dire otherwise anyway coming after the superb Dark Knight with Heath Ledger. |

I hated the crow, nothing but emo Gothic dross. If he hadn't of died making it then the film would've tanked.
Love the marvel films and the Christopher Nolan trilogy. Watchmen is a piece of genius though, the comic book quite rightly showed the world that graphic novels are a valid form of literature and are to be respected |

The Batman with Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton both brought darkness to their roles Christian Bale's Batman was not dark and no match to Heath Ledger's Joker and an under rated Aaron Eckhart.
Constantine was a good film but Keanu Reeves was not John Constantine of Hellblazer as was the use of all that spiritual armory.
I am not sure Preacher can be made into a good film and will suffer the Watchman problem of having not enough time to fit in an intricate plot

I hate DC films although The Dark Knight is watchable only because of Heath.
I'm a massive spiderman fan. The originals kinda sucked but I found The amazing spiderman was related to the comics than the original films with Toby Maguire.
I also love the X-Men films my favourite has got to be X-Men First Class.
However marvel have made a few terrible films like Dare Devil and Elektra.
Looking forward to seeing the Deadpool movie though. |
