The key trick to looking "toned" is removing the fat that covers your muscles. The quickest & easiest way for you to do this is probably some good clean eating and loads of cardio. You could probably look ripped in 4-6 weeks.

Pilates, yoga, core muscle exercises using gym ball - keep doing cardio vascular workouts too - so the abdominals can be fully appreciated rather than hidden by belly fat m x |

"Get the 'Insanity' home workout DVD's. "
This!!
They are pretty tough if you don't usually exercise, but they are sooo effective. I did them before my wedding and my wedding dress had to be taken in two sizes before the wedding!

Insanity is really really good, but as Courtney said it's a hard one lol. I did it 2 years ago, it's really effective. Have just decided to do it again - i'v just completed the first 3 weeks and can already tell a difference with my clothes.

Marc and I did the original Insanity workout. Once we finished, I did the T25 workouts, which are much easier and shorter, just to stay in shape. They are great!

Motivation to exercise at home is tough going, I do martial arts, cycling and jogging, just bought a weights bench with mixed weights to improve strength, still in the box at the moment |

This.. diet is key. You can't excersise your way out of a bad diet. You won't see the benefit of excersising until you've changed your duest for the better. The thing with abs is the main ab muscle ( abdominus rectus) the six pack is the smallest of the ab muscle group of which there are . The internal and external obliques and the transverse are the main ones which if excersised properly will show off the the six much better. Straight sit up are pretty pointless so side to side or lateral sit up excersises to work the obliques and deeper ab muscles is what you want to do. Avoid full straight leg raises as these will damage your lower back over time. I'm a personal trainer. Feel free to pm me if you want any info. |

We all got abs really so you don't need to do much, it is all about the diet and cardio, would sugest the anabolic muscle diet, here it goes, which I follow as well:
Week 1 Maintenance 3200kcal
Week 2 Low restricted calories 1600
Week 3 Super compensation week of 4800
Week 4 Super compensation week of 4800
That is how a month of muscle dieting would be, it is a good one cos it still allows you to build muscles whilst still getting shredded. Or ofcourse you could do the normal cutting diet of being under 2500kcal, lets say 2200 to keep seeing results. |

Skip the sit-ups and anything else that puts your back through unnatural movement.
Accept that some things are not worth doing and will cause you issues in the long run.
So your probs never going to enter a competition.
And to be fair women are pretty forgiving and don't mind a few imperfections.
Then hit the legs, back, chest and arms.
Respect the process, your in it for the long haul.
Eat right, but enjoy life, I eat and drink what ever I please Friday and Saturday.
Rest for week if your body needs it.
And force yourself to go for the first 2 weeks. |
