No, I'm genuinely curious. I've never heard of him before this, so I wanted to get a feel for who else had.

I hadn't heard of him because he isn't in my circle of friends,my peer group or among my colleagues

If he was then of course I would know of him,and more than likely his mental health issues if he's stood up and talked about them,news travels fast

How many people are labour MPs? How many people are in his circle of friends and family. How many people does he work with in total?

Your telling me that everyone's mental health status would be in your forethought, prior to you making, what is normally seen as a fairly normal light hearted remark?

I've had people make jokes about having fits and "epis", during conversation with me. They were not aware of my health status, and I didn't see fit to tell them at that particular point. It would be very embarrassing for them. But I didn't run away and cry either. I laughed at it. Perhaps people need to stop being offended on behalf of others.
