I remember seeing him being portrayed on the movie "Invictus" and remember thinking to myself jesus christ that guy's a running tank the way he was smashing past his opponents...

he was a phenomenal player yet within a year of playing that game he was forced out of the game for about one & a half years with kidney problems.
I'm gutted. |

Absolute legend and a complete shock. His aim in life was to see his boys reach 21.
When you think of his amazing runs it's impossible to believe he was actually so sick with renal failure.
rip big guy xx |

Very few people transcend sports to become a global icon. This humble one man wrecking ball achieved that and for me is up there with the likes of Ayrton Senna, Michael Jordan, Pele, Jack Nicholson, Muhammad Ali and Usain Bolt as one of the greatest sportsmen the world has ever seen. RIP |

He died of a heart attack/ heart failure and not because of his kidney disease.
We are very sad. As some of you know my eldest lad is on dialysis and needs a transplant. Jonah is/ was his inspiration. Although we never met him his story provided much encouragement and positivity.
A true sports man. |
