I find that most the women I've spoken to have low esteem and no confidence. Main purpose of them using fab is because of this. I also find that they are the most ignorant and rude on here.

Not my experiance at all - infact (when I was on here before for 3 years) I found the women I met to be confident and totally lovely.

You've either had a lot of bad luck or maybe there's something about your manner that brings out the worse in people.

You know what, some ladies in here do have low confidence and low self esteem - most unjustifiably as they are lovely, grounded, humble and sexy people.

There's two ways you can approach people (either male or female) that feel in that state of mind - either encourage them and remind them of all the positives they possess, or say they're only on here because of that and that they're rude and ignorant.

I'm very confident in myself, I wouldn't say arrogant, but that of course isn't for me to judge.

What I do have is a low tolerance for bull shit and my responses to it, do occasionally get me accused of having my head stuck up my own arse, usually when they don't like my ability not to tolerate it

Perhaps the way a small minority of men on here treat them has made them this way, not that there is any excuse to be rude as its inexcusable but the way some guys conduct themselves on here is less than respectful. Having said that, if anyone lets this get to them to the point they become rude and ignorant then maybe its time to leave the site?

It's not rocket science, insecure people put others down to make themselves feel better. It might be why you have experienced people being rude to you. It is also probably why you posted, to put others down to make yourself feel better which suggests you are just as insecure.

Well on the risk of saying something wrong as I am one who does have low self-esteem, which I can say stems from the bullies I had to put up with at school, I would like to stand up for people like myself that are of low self-esteem but still have confidence to be themselves if this makes people think I'm ignorant and rude so be it as I don't believe I am unless provoked

I'm sure there are some women on here with low self esteem, would be unusual given the numbers if there wasn't. Whether they are rude with it is hard to say, however its often pointed out in threads that it's not gender specific when it comes to being an arse.

I still want to know what classes someone as rude and ignorant.

I may be presuming here, but the OP said many had inboxed him agreeing with him, and I would think a lot of those would say it's women not replying to their messages that makes them rude and ignorant.

Even the example the OP gave wasn't exactly rude or ignorant.

We're all on here for different reasons . All of us have things we aren't confident about. And if being back on here helps that then great. I've got so much confidence since I became a swinger. Is that bad!!!!! Will I be knocked for it ?? Probably but that's their problem . I'm polite, respectful and answer my messages whether it be yes or no .

Unfortunately I agree Courtney sometimes we can't win whichever way we act or are. Women are gorgeous, it's just the way they carry and project themselves

I think it's inc_edibly sad and highly contemptible that someone feels the need to denigrate people that they have already identified as having low confidence and self esteem. Yes, there will be people feeling that way, just as there are people with lots of self confidence. We are all individuals and our life histories and experiences make us what we are now. But don't mock or be angry or belittle or be rude to those who find it hard to express themselves in the way you may want. That says more about you than it does about them.

And if these shy insecure women are simply not responding to your messages or refusing invitations, then all I can think is that it's because certain men haven't developed the sensitivity, maturity or finesse to understand yet how to approach a woman properly without causing offence. And such men would do better spending their time learning about women and how to interact in a considerate way than sniping and bitching about perceived shortcomings.

I sometimes have low self esteem and lack confidence. It's certainly not why I'm here though - I think this site has the potential to be quite damaging to someone who really does have self esteem problems.

I beg to differ. My soon to be ex husband spent 8 and a half years having affairs. That what has knocked my self esteem and made me feel like shit.

I have been on Fab for longer than I have known my husband and definitely not here because of it. I am here because I like to chat and have a laugh with like minded people, not because I am a sad bitch who does not feel like anyone would go near her unless it was a free for all website (excuse the rant people, not in the best of moods.)

I also make the effort to answer every message even if it is a no thanks so that is a little wrong too. xx

Have you got some numbers for us? We appreciate that there are 2 recurrent factors, 1. These people have communicated somehow with the Op and 2. These people are alleged by the Op to be female, and have been diagnosed.

How big a sample size are we talking?

How was the evaluation of mental health etc made?

Is there any connection with the Op and the females' mental health status?

I've met lots of wonderful ladies and couples over the years on fab. Some have been shy to start with. But like real life, everyone is different.

But low self esteem has never been a problem.

Low body confidence thanks to complete moron men has been but I've been lucky enough to relax them so they forget all about it.
