Seems pretty cheap to me although maybe you should have found one that you can just pay and train, there seem to be more and more of those now as people don't want to be tied in to an annual contract. |

"It is cheap, the more times you go a week the cheaper it will be in the long run, check out mike chang's utube channel 6pack shortcuts for motivation."
Will have a look at that |

"Sat in work and I decided to rejoin the gym why I have no idea a 12 month contract at £30 a month I will go tonight and see if I can stay motivated "
Good luck - just establish it as part of your daily routine - soon you won't be able to live without your gym fix!! |

I can't imagine anything better to invest your money in than your own health and wellbeing.
That's how I justify it to myself everytime I come out of a bike shop a much poorer man than when I walked in...
But certainly in my case it's well justified and been worth every penny for both the gym subs and the bikes.
Sometimes you've got to force yourself those first few times to get things going again and get back into the swing of it. |

Join a Ceroc jive dancing class in your area instead.....
great fun,
good exercise,
very sociable,
And a good way to get your arms round 37 different ladies in one evening!
Look under "UK Jive" for classes in your region. |

remember that you have the 30 day cooling off period, so you can change your mind if you are in time and go out and find a pay as you pump contract; which may be better suited to your circumstances |

But why spend money on a gym? My doctor once told me of a gym that is massive and free! It was just outside the window..
I know I am not disciplined enough to make myself go to the gym a few times a week after work, but I am disciplined enough to take the camera and walk around the countryside and take pictures. OK, it may not be a fat burn, but with healthy eating (cutting down the bacon & cheese to just three days a week!) it has kept my weight down. I feel fitter and have more stamina.
Another benefit is that I am doing low impact exercise, I will hopefully not turn out like a gym-bunny friend and her hubby, who have both now got joint problems due to over doing the running and rowing! And I get some great pictures that I have been able to incorporate into a business program! |

You probably have wasted money but you are not alone. Far better to just go out and walk or cycle and best of all its virtually free. |

I have this realy great gym right by my house and the prices are realy reasonable.
It's called "outdoors".
It's realy fantastic. I walk in it, run in it, climb, relax and sometimes the view is wonderful (sometimes the view is wonderful in the gym as well so I will give you that one)
Most people pay for a year and never go back after the first few weeks.
Choose a pay as you go gym to see if you like it |

Hate to say it but yes you have wasted your money £30 a month just think you could have saved yourself £360 by just have a run around your local park to burn the same calories. running around the streets cost you nothing mate |

Even as someone who has been going to the gym varying amounts every week since I first joined five years ago I have to admit that it is seasonal for me.
Over the last few weeks I've started going 2 or mostly 3 times and it'll be that way until it warms up a bit and I start to enjoy it outdoors a bit more again.
Long cycle rides and even runs aren't too bad on cold dry days but I must admit I feel the cold terribly since I've lost a lot of weight and I see the gym as a nice comfy option. |

I wouldn't countenance a financial commitment unless I was very certain that it was worthwhile for me. If it involved exercise, I would always join once I was already exercising, such that I appreciated the commitment and accepted that I had the required level of motivation.
The main growth in this industry is within the pay as you go type segment, where you don't need to sign up for a year or so, but just pay - for example - one month at a time, and are free to leave as you choose, without penalties.
But, if the op can afford it: presumably you could, hence signing the contract, then you could potentially now work out whether there is a cooling-off period, should you change your mind. |

That's nothing, I spent all mine on good times , meets and hedonistic pleasures and proceeded to then waste the rest.
You made a veritable investment, if you go.... |

"I pay £40 a month...haven't been for a month, even though I carry my gym kit every day. Just can't be arsed!!! "
Sooooooooooooooooooooo £40 a month! That could buy you over ten kebabs or thirteen pints of Old Scrotum |
