Exactly, people cheer them on when they go to war, then mourn them and say what a terrible thing war is at the cenotaph.

Insane.

It's been reported due to what's happened in Paris.

But they have been dropping bombs in Syria prior to British jets.

Don't believe everything the press say! They are trying to sensationalise it because of the terror attack.

"Good."

It;s not good. They might kill some terrorists, they will likely kill more innocent Syrians.

The loss of an innocent life is the loss of an innocent life. It doesn't matter whether that life is a Frenchman enjoying a night out or a Syrian trying to survive in a warzone. The death of innocent's is never a good thing. How can society applaud one and mourn another? We're just creating more extremists and probably many more refugees fleeing their homes

So very true our fist instinct is to lash out with anger and violence.

The western countries and Russia have been bombing IS targets in the middle east for weeks , months . Sadly civilians have been killed

Our thoughts are with the families in France , Europe and the middle east of innocent people who have been caught up in this horrible conflict

Time to open our eyes and move forward. The children deserve a better future than what is coming. It's about time we solved the problems with real solutions and not for profit.

"So what's your plan? How are you going to stop the hate?"

I haven't got a clue how to stop it, the harder the airstrikes against isis or by sending in ground troops (which I cant see happening for a while) will just make them fight back more, kill more innocent people.

I used to be of the mind frame stick a nuclear bomb on countries and blow them all up sure fire way to end it all.

But now I don't think this is the answer its too late for that as they have there cells in too many countries ready to hit back.

The sad truth is it can't be stopped. The airstrikes, the Iraq milita and Kurds are starting to slowly destroy ISIS as a Caliphate. This will have the unfortunate effect of splintering IS and leading them to try ever more desperate acts such as the one in Paris.

I read an article by a lateral thinker that said something along the lines of give them all a diet high in Marmite. The vitamin D it contains would go a long way to making the population of the middle east far less aggressive.

Just don't mention the Vietnam war.

About time someone got together and made a few more countries where people who believe in one thing can live and if you believe another live in that one. It's been done many times before.

Where did ISIS come from? Did it really come from people fed up with drone stokes and those brainwashed by odd YouTube videos? Did it fuck. It came from the worst political decision since Chamberlain decided Hitler was a jolly good chap. The name for the aforementioned policy was "debaathisation" during the occupation of Iraq. Some genius politician decided that it would be a smart idea to take the world's 4th largest army and make them rundundant. Presumably they were going to re-train as supermarket till operators or something but funnily enough they went and got jobs (yes jobs that pay a lot of money) to fight for ISIS. 25/40 senior ISIS leaders are ex-baath commanders - go figure.

What really plays into the terrorist hands is believing that they honestly believe their ridiculous ideology which just happens to make them filthy rich.

Let's face it unless your in the military and know some of the intelligence they do then your really in no place to comment either.

The French, British clearly have intelligence to know where Isis could be hiding in Syria otherwise how did they know exactly where jihad Jon was at the specific time the drone took him out.

They know far more than any of us do from reading the tripe in the news.

Do you know they haven't got a little map with pins in it????.

Ok first don't tell me what to do or the way to think

Secondly perhaps think about your reactions and the way you have spoken to others on this post because they don't agree with you!

At the end of the day everyone has an opinion and is entitled to it weather we agree or disagree however a level of maturity might be a good idea rather than being abusive or said crap like the daily mail is calling you.

My information comes from friends serving in the forces, and believe you me we know nothing of what is going on in reality.

Plans have been striking Isis strong holds in Syria for weeks now they don't go in willy nilly and bomb the shit out of places for the sake of it. Bombing is very controlled and specific things are targeted, accidents happen from time to time and innocent Syrians get killed but sadly that's war bit like those innocent Russians coming home from holiday or those enjoying there weekend over in Paris.

The reality of war innocent people get killed but would you want to live in a world run by extremists????. I sure as hell wouldn't.

"Good.

Bombs are a two way street. Regardless of reason or cause you cannot throw them without expecting something to be thrown back.

As normal the lives taken when something is thrown back wont be those at the heart of warmongering.

I'm glad I'm not the one making the decision of wether to increase bombing runs etc.

It's all well and good playing armchair general saying yes we should send more or no we shouldn't, getting into argument abouts it.

When the truth probably is none of us have the slightest clue as to what intelligence the governments have on Isis etc so in the grand scheme of things most of our comments are totally irrelevant

My last comment is how do you deal with terrorists who have no regard for any life, be it there own or someone else's

No they and many other banks do mortgages where the terms are worded in a way as to exclude the word interest. They ceratainly aren't interest free.

Do you know why isis exists?

People in a normal society are not born extremists. People are not born with a will to have fun by killing people.

Try imagining what state of mind you need to be in to pull off things like this.

The french have been bombing syria. Killing innocent people. Killing woman and children for weeks but we didnt hear of that. Im sure the number far exceeds what happened in Paris. Is that not terrorism in its own?

If you are born into a society and oppressed. Living with bombs being dropped every day without knowing if you will be alive later. Not knowing if your parents and siblings will be around. Being displaced. You absorb and absorb until you push back.

Why do you think people are leaving? Willing to risks their lives at sea out of hope?

They leaving as much because if the french or any country bombing them as much as isis.

This is not a religious thing. No religion teaches war. Not one not even Islam.

They depicted as jihadis because they muslim but they not. Islam does not condone this behaviour and they probably will not get the heaven as everybody thinks they are.

And when war has destroyed a country, who comes in to rebuild? Big european countries and america?

Think about it every day syrians are dying but nobody cares.

Again what was done in Paris is heinous. Its sad and its a shame but understand the whole story first. Not just what the media portrays.

Thats a different discussion. Taking isis out is not going to help for as long as there is no peace. People will be driven towards it as long as they luve in war.

Furthermore they never stopped and asked people if they were muslim before they killed them. They didnt care and they wanted to make a statement and they did.

Why is it a different discussion? You asked "do you know why ISIS exists?" - in no small part because some bright spark thought it would be clever to take half a million trained killers in the region and make them redundant. Many of whom managed to find well paying employment with... ISIS. Estimates are that 25/40 of ISIS most senior commanders are ex-Ba'ath.

The French, British clearly have intelligence to know where Isis could be hiding in Syria otherwise how did they know exactly where jihad Jon was at the specific time the drone took him out.

They know far more than any of us do from reading the tripe in the news.

islamic STATE. its a country. three weeks ago it was a country the size of the uk

What the base rate of interest there?

Who is the ISIS ambassador to Britain? "

No they're not.

Jeez you must have done well at debating class.

That's an estimate by Sajad Jiyad, a senior researcher at the al-Bayan Center for Studies & Planning in Baghdad. Your source is? "

Oh you got your evidence from an estimate from a prejudiced (non independent) source. Worth no more than my rebuttal.

What did you think evolution was?

Because your statement makes as much sense as saying. "All these years of cheese making and humans still destroy one and other""

I soooooo want to say "blessed are the cheesemakers".

But I won't.......

"It is good they have increased the bombing, make them feel what they have done.

Are you for real?? Do you honestly think they've got a little pin in a map marked 'terrorists lair' and are dropping bombs on that precise spot? Wake up for fucks sake

You're in the 'good lets drop bombs see how they like it' camp then as he said above? Doesn't hurt obliterating a few innocents to get what we want I guess! "

Call me naive, but aren't Isis obliterating a "few" innocents to get what they want?

Ok well the audience can weight your pub logic with my evidence. All evidence is biased somehow but at least mine is stated properly. If you really think the Republican guard were "poorly skilled men in uniform" then you are indeed displaying poor judgement.

Disbanding his army definately helped. 4th largest in the world at the time. A political decision that farted in the face of the military advice given at the time.

But you said "half a million" ex army. Then you mention the republican guard as if they make up the half million. But google will tell you that they numbered no more than 75000. BEFORE the allies targeted and destroyed them. So...this half million strong well trained army never existed.

Mixing different things here. Approximate half a million ex Iraq army people were made redundant. You implied a large quantity of those were "poorly trained men in uniform". No doubt the 500,000 has a variety of standards but I pointed out that it contains elite units like the RG who are certainly more than poorly trained men in uniform. The CIA estimates ISIS has 20,000 - 50,000 fighters. Using your 75,000 figure we could staff ISIS using just ex-RG members!

My point is that disbanding the world's 4th largest army in an unstable region helped fuel terrorism in the region.

What exactly is your point?

I can assure you the lionshare are not Iraqi. My point is your point about isis leadership and it's evidence is flawed. Dont write it like it's gospel. Of course it's correct to say that the power vacuum helped the creation of isis. But the majority of the Iraqi army didn't just put a different colour shirt on.

Where about were you? I didn't see you there?

Lol, nice try but the exact word I used was that the 25/40 is an "estimate". Not sure how you confused that with "gospel".

This debate has run its course and people can make up their own minds based on what has been presented, goodnight.

"Where did ISIS come from?

What really plays into the terrorist hands is believing that they honestly believe their ridiculous ideology which just happens to make them filthy rich."
