Anyone following the repeats of totp from 1980 on BBC4?. I series record but notice there are big gaps as some weeks there are no programme, so I'm guessing Jimmy Saville or Dave Lee Travis presented the missing weeks.

Yes, you are correct when a dodgy presenter is on they don't show the programme. I've been following it since they started with 1978.

Jonathan King was on one programme, someone cocked up there!

Canterbury

They have also shown clips of the Bay City Rollers (didn't Derek get potted for paedo porn? ), so the filter isn't perfect.

That said, the reruns have been a walk into my past on freeview.......nostalga ain't alway expensive!

there were about 3 months of strike action by the musicians union workers at the bbc that year over the use of the beebs in house orchestra which they used to acompany the artists on TOTP, it's possible that it's these episodes that were never made in the first place which seem to be missing.

I remember the strike, the missing programmes stretch over the years since 1978, definitely when a dodgy presenter is on. Then substituted with The Sky at Night

P.O. Box DE1 0NQ

The BBC replaced miming with live vocals in 1991, Mr Lemon, whose company promotes Kylie Minogue, said last night: 'We have made our thoughts known to the BBC. A potentially disastrous sounding performance can stop people buying the record, and there is evidence that this has been happening.'

Kylie is fit, but who needs shit vocals

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Why would any of Savilles victims choose to watch totp repeats?

They wouldn't.

So why can't the rest of us watch the music?

It's not that hard to edit him out if we feel that strongly about it.
