So any fellow foodies out there has anyone got their own mincers for making susages/mince/burgers from fresh meat?
Any recommendations on brands or models.
Thinking hand cranked is better than motorised as it saves a lot of complexity and hassle |

Is it permanent or clamp on I'm think clamping on would be best so I can put it away |

Fine, I just soaked it and then used a bottle brush to clean out the tube bits. It's obviously more difficult than a plate or cutlery, but not impossible. |

I'm thinking 10 mins cleaning to have some real steak burgers from beef I have seen whole is worth it |

Depends really. You can buy already minced without much difference. I just wanted to make sausages with my own mince. If you partially freeze the meat, it's easier to clean. |

Mine just has the front plate bit come off and the cutting blades too. |

.inside the tube there's a screw that forces the meat into the blades and the plate.
It's where I imagine most of the meat debris would get caught |

Just Googled it, they're the more expensive ones (£100-£300). Mine's the short one so can't answer. |

If it's 10 minutes I don't mind. I gave up on my mixer because it had to be soaked and stuff got stuck in the metal. I like knowing what goes into my food |

Yes, the screw-bit slides out once you undo the end.
We have the attachment for the kenwood, with the sausage and kebbeh maker.
Like AB^^ says, I always pre-freeze high fat meat (shoulder/belly for sausages), but don't bother when mincing steak.
I tend to do big batches for the freezer, both as sausages, burgers and sausagemeat.
Cleaning is simple - I just leave it to Mrs ddc...
(Seriously, it's not that bad, but I wouldn't want to do it for individual recipes.)
I reckon it's worth it overall
