Lets show solidarity in our support for all the victims and emergency services caught up in this terrible tragedy.

The last thread was removed by moderators. I realise the Paris tragedy has nothing to do with the site but,,we're all human and,my compassion certainly is sent to all those poor people going through hell.
Also to fellow professionals trying to cope with it all. |

Government violence trumps all other violence.
RIP all the victims of all organised violence everywhere. Including those who died from purposely created poverty, not just weapons. |

And the people who will have to clean up, as it were, the emergency services and then the mental health professionals etc.
These things impact much wider than just the victims and their dear ones sadly |

Paris is my 2nd home. Luckily I have spoken to 4 members of my family who are all safe. On the downside there are 4 people unaccounted for who live there. Fortunately a lot of my relatives have moved out of the city in recent years. I am praying my aunt and her children are ok.

Mrs is away visiting family and it has really affected the children. We have spoken to her tonight but it brings home what is important in life. The world will self destruct if we can't all settle our differences. And it has nothing to do with religion it is just pure scum of the earth who have no right to be on this earth. We love visiting France it is a great country and the people are friendly and they are very closely related to us. Mr W |

I'll say this part of me when seeing this wants revenge it wants to go carpet bomb the middle east and all Muslims.
But then a larger part of me remember a that two of my best friends are Muslim and that both of them would be higher up on the firing line than you or I due to their life choices.
And I beg everyone to rremember that as much as these terrorists want us to see Muslims as one large homogenous group they are not.
For every one who suports these acts there are hundreds who would stand against them.
Rip to all innocents today and my thoughts to all their families |

A 1000+ person capacity venue stored with practically no planning and only a 100 deaths is a remarkable job.
This isn't a hostage situation with here they negotiate this is people trying to kill everyone they can be for they run out of ammo or are killed.
With any less planning g it would have simply been a suicide raid |

I expect some of those killed tonight would identify as Muslim. In such a vast number of dead i'd be surprised if there were none. |

Yes. Takes me back to 7/7 when I lived in London and no one could locate one another, and the failed attempt the following week- I was in Cyprus and it took hours to find out that my friends and family back home were safe, even though it was a failed attempt that day! |

Completely agree with you. It can also be said that there are people out there or extreme Muslims who would want to carpet bomb the US and UK and Christians for the illegal wars we have waged in their countries and killed millions.
I believe funding terrorists in Syria might be the actual reason, but sure, their will be ill informed keep blaming regular Muslims and let the governments get away with what they are doing!
RIP to thos killed in France, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine etc etc etc |

"How does one define an 'illegal war' then?"
Losing it.
Pretty much it.
The war in Iraq wasn't illegal by any testable means even under the various UN terms it could be argued as under rth acceptable means to resolving the issue.
Illegal war is one you started and lost in international politics. |

"Anyone else heard reports of a fire at the refugee camp in Calais ?
Stating it as a possible revenge attack on BBC news
Yeah it's on fire.
Violence is a valid option.
Violence is the cause of the problem
I know.
It's the cause of a lot of things, none of them nice. Don't know why it's still a valid option.
Was violence not a valid option to Hitler's machinations?"
I said still, this implies now and not the past but:
Hitlers machinations were violence...if his actions weren't allowed to be valid then would he have got so far as he did? |

Well violence is happening. Isis is massacring thousands.
Their violence is happing whether you grant it validity or not.
Petty symantic arguments are meaningless. When it comes down to it force is the final line in human interaction |

Arguing denotes that i am justifying to you anything i said. I am not.
These are my thoughts and feelings about the validation of violence. And trust me they extend to much more than what i've said in here.
They are not petty thoughts, they are real thoughts that could have made a difference. They won't make a difference about the past now, but we don't live in the past, we live in the now and my original comment was about that. Of course i understand that some people cannot live without violence the way societies are now, but like i said violence is a valid option. Keep on validating it and of course it will happen illegally, as well as legally.

It's a bit late closing borders now. They should have been shut months ago. We have been well warned what ISIS have in store through infiltrating the west with refugees who will include these terrorist bastards
This is just the start of it

"Paris is my 2nd home. Luckily I have spoken to 4 members of my family who are all safe. On the downside there are 4 people unaccounted for who live there. Fortunately a lot of my relatives have moved out of the city in recent years. I am praying my aunt and her children are ok.
Fuck terrorism. I pray that all of them are ok. My wife is away from home and my eldest child is really upset we have spoken to her tonight. But I can't begin to imagine how frightening this must be for you. Mr W "

And I beg everyone to rremember that as much as these terrorists want us to see Muslims as one large homogenous group they are not.
For every one who suports these acts there are hundreds who would stand against them.
Rip to all innocents today and my thoughts to all their families
A great post

I was in Strasbourg earlier in the year
The (armed) military and police presence was visible
These guys and girls simply cannot defend everything all of the time.
France has an issue but, as with previous attacks, I would suggest that many of these attackers will turn out to be both home grown and disaffected.

"What scares me is if there are this many attacks in different places are they all coordinated by the same people?
And if so how did they manage to arrange all this undetected
And what's to say it won't happen over here tomorrow?? Or the next day etc"
It will happen I think. I reckon they are biding their time with us |

It's sickening
I went to bed thinking about how sad it was and how those poor people must have felt, how their families feel today
I woke up to hear the news was far worse
I'm imagining how we would cope here, the big city's streets are soon to be full of Christmas shoppers,I feel like we're sitting targets but defiantly don't want to stop plans or going to places despite it being at the back of my mind to stay away from possible target areas
It's just so so sad |

It's just so so sad " Well done you for your attitude. I went to Wembley a couple of weeks ago for American football. 84 thousand people. All leaving in an orderly fashion to get on the tube. Great atmosphere even had a Ymca flashmob waiting to get in the station courtesy of London Transport playing it through a loud speaker.Because we were having so much fun the risk of terrorism never crossed my mind. Puts out a defiant message. Mr W |

Please don't take this the wrong way (though I know many will), while all the comments are thoughtful and well meant at least 127 people went out last night to have a nice evening and will not be going home. Thousands more lives will never be the same.
I just think it's slightly disrespectful seeing "my thoughts are with the families" .... Next to a picture of a hard cock!

Yes it can seem a little strange at times but the intent & comments expressed by the majority are not disrespectful & that to me is the main thing. |

The aim of terrorism is to cause maximum disruption and despair through fear of it's use. Stand united with the people of France, then carry on with your daily life. This takes away any victory these cowards may have felt they achieved. My prayers to all affected.
This is not about religion, it's always the same. Greed or jealousy dressed up as religion to make someone's ambitions more palatable to their supporters

Firstly, let me state my condolences for those who lost their lives in the attack, those who lost loved ones, & those affected by this horrendous example of what human beings are capable of doing to one another.
Secondly, let me remind others of the OP's request that this thread is not about opinions or anything else other than to show solidarity for the victims of this heinous attack. Frankly I'm surprised by some members trying to divert attention from this to other things happening in France & elsewhere. Can I politely suggest you start another thread if you want to discuss matters not directly connected with the Paris attack or the show of support for those who died last night, |

Heartbreaking. RIP all those who went out for a Friday night socialising and never made it home
And genuine pity for those who's first reaction to last night's events is to find a reason to hate rather than feel sorrow and sadness |

While all condolences are well intentioned the best we can do in the memory of all murdered by terrorists is to confront hatred where ever we encounter it. |
