We can tolerate pretty much everyone on here .
Infact we rather like lots of the musings on the forums .
But one or two forumites just leave us cold .
And those we just ignore

I think the idea that tolerance is a good thing is closely linked to us in the west living in a predominantly individualistic society.
If you go to a more collectivist society then they'd probably disagree on the merits of it.
I wouldn't start with the assumption that our culture is superior, it's just the one we have chosen and it ain't changing. But to pretend there are only pros and no cons to anything is niave. |
