I know some of you guys are into keeping fit and working out etc..
I'm considering buying a latex resistance band..most likely a 208cm green one.
I wondering if anyone has any experience of the different colours/resistance levels and can offer any opinions on which might be most suitable?
I'm particularly looking to squat etc in the aim of tightening/toning the rear of my thighs and possibly to work my upper body if possible towards improving my ability to perform chin ups which isn't great at the mo.
All advice greatfully received.

Really good ideas and I'm looking into all of them..trx sounds very interesting and I've seen them used many times and though I'd like to try it.
The strict squats I'm not sure but will find out tomorrow while I'm in work if I can.
I tend you do barbell squats with 40kg mostly at the moment but I think I might up that slightly in the next few sessions. |

Best advice ask at your local gym xx you do not need generic advice from a forum you need advice tailored to your age , fitness, experience , body and goals
At your age and body type bad training can, will cause damage to your joints
Correct form will trump any type of fitness equipment and only by being observed by an informed person will you achive this unless you read and understand lots
Trx is great but not for you yet you need to understand bio mechanics at least at a fundamental level to use them effectively xx |

Bands are good for stretching, but can be used attached to weights. It works similar to heavy chains. Be careful not to let the bands be in warm areas. It distorts the bands. Further, watch for wear and tear. Can be painful. |

The ideas so far are much appreciated and there are a couple of things I will be looking into.
Whenever I try something new I do tend to get the rundown first hand from someone who already does it..for instance if I decided to give the trx a shot I know a personal trainer who uses it and has before now helped me with lifting techniques etc when I've wanted advice.
I am most definitely not looking to build large amounts of muscle though I would like to increase my upper body strength a bit and continue to tone and tighten my chest area.
