I watch it every now and then but I was wondering if anybody else has just seen the cross breed stray that had his ears chopped off. Who has it in their head to do things like this to animals?

Sadly we live in a world where some people have little respect for each other , let alone animals .

We have a duty to care for and be kinder to all creatures who share our pale blue dot .

Pooch agrees

Some complete twazerk mix two large breeds which shouldn't have been put together. Who ever did it should be prosecuted for animal cruelty.

totally agree but the recent fad of the designer breeds, cocker this, jack that etc etc is part of the issue and that's only down to some people who want to fuck about with mixing not compatible breeds..

used to be called bitzers when i was a kid..

I agree they might think they are designer dogs look cute etc but have no idea the consequences by doing this.

St Bernard's have issue with hip displacia and can have loose joints by crossing with a Gt Dane like in the case tonight was the nail in the dogs coffin and it's so unfair.

Is it a greyhound? They have tags in their ears showing which kennel they belong to, when they are done racing some cut their ears off so they can't be traced,

There are plenty of rescue centres all over the place, we got our dog from one of them. Not even 4 years old and we are her 4th or 5th owner, one owner gave her up for barking.

Hate seeing where dogs have been mistreated.

We're thinking about getting a Bassett hound as a friend for our dachshund.

The Bassett will be called Lenny

Looked at breeders but also looked into the rescue programme for them. Saw a gorgeous 4 month old pup that needed rehoming but we're not in a position to do this yet

Well my dog is a rescue. Was probably used as a bait dog being the X breed she is. I have been through 3 dog behaviourists to try and sort her out and she still has a few issues that will never be fixed. As much as I would love to swap her for an easier dog I would miss her being annoying. Plus she stopped me from being attacked and robbed one night while I was out walking her when I hadn't long had her. I can't shower or use the bathroom in peace, she hogs the bed and does nothing but bark when out in the car but she is mine and we keep each other going

I understand how it feels. My dog of 14 years was rescued when he was a pup. His old tied owner moved and left him chained in the garden and the full time we had him he got really wound up if anyone was running away from him even normal joggers in the street. But he was still an amazing dog right up until he got too old and had to be put down in January. Never would have got rid of him or swapped him for anything.

I would hurt anyone who hurt our dog or cat .much as I love the animal programes I can't watch them as get too upset .a few years ago a old boss brought their kids a hamster for Xmas and no one bothered with it .I use to clean their house and I was the only one who bothered with her .they went on holiday and left me in charge of house ,so I took the hamster and cage home and kept her .sent them a text to say she'd died .bless her she lived for 3 years and I never felt guilty .

The best dogs we have had were rescue dogs, the most memorable was a border collie. She refused to be trained, the farmer told us that either someone have it or he will shoot it. Due to him hitting the dog, it took me a year to gain the dogs trust. Bloody good dog she was, sadly we had to put her down at 18 years old.
