Hollands Potato and Meat pies
Jump to: Newest in thread

...before the EU got involved and forced them to list ingredients in order of percentage content.
Mmmmmm, potato and mechanically recovered meat favouring....

I actually meant it was good that you'd break the rules for a pie and not a single guy, but if you want something on the side with your pie, I'm a bit Saucy |

It's not the butt you want to 'steer' (see what I did there?) clear of
I remember a Bob Peck thriller years ago about the meat trade - it put me of sausages for...
...almost a week!

Nothing could ever beat a Brook's homemade meat and potato pie.
That is Brook's Bakery, Cake, News Agent and sweet shop at the bottom of Wharton Hill in Winsford, Cheshire. Sadly gone now to make way for a kabab shop... |

Coward's Butchers in Frodsham (Sue Coward pies) make a passable meat and potato pie, although I would recommend you go for their stake, Stake and kidney or Scotch Eggs! |

This thread is doing nothing for my chances of fat club glory. Chippy tea it is then. It's Friday night, I'm within my rights..... |

Maybe it IS an age thing but they have deteriorated so much I no longer buy them.
Do the test.
Warm one up.
Take of the lid.
Look at contents.
It's runny mash with the odd lump in and what look like speckles of something that could have once been meat.
Tastes of pepper.
Pastry not that good.
They used to have a good spoonful of scouse in them. |
