Ive got win10 (via download a few months ago), and crap cleaner, and glary utilities 5.
Neither are fixing the problem i have, with being directed to spam sites, sometimes have to exit the screen three times to progress where i want to. Sometimes the adware takes the whole screen and i have to do manual shut down.
When i click on extensions, that screen just disappears
I also have a problem with emails (yahoo) where i can't open a new email to compose, i can only reply
TIA |

You tired downloading malwarebytes? It's free and tends to get rid of trojans. Or you could download adblock, this blocks ads and pop ups.
It might actually be that yahoo is spamware now, seems to be on my laptop and i get told it's a PUP but can't delete it coz it's attached itself to my windows programmes. |

Malwayre bytes and avg free are a decent combo.
The two things you listed sound more like aware themselves lol.
If you've just done a reinstall though and aren't invested yet just format and begin again.
And in further don't install the stuff and click yes so things online when they pop up |

Download 'ghostly' that should help. Also get a hirens disk. Uses a Linux kernel and allows you to blast rootkits and other viruses that run on the machine. Its loaded with free apps and saved my ass many a time |

Potentially Unwanted Programme.
It's not a virus exactly but it acts similar to one (spammy), that's why yahoo is flagged up as one these days. The yahoo one is more like a trojan because it attaches to a lot of stuff, toolbar, homepage etc. the yahoo i've got has even attached to windows programmes that are necessary for my laptop to function.
Someone else can tell you about system restore, not sure if you need discs for that, i know you need to back up anything you don;t want to lose.

1. install, update & run malwarebytes
2. install, update & run superantispyware
3. install, update and run ccleaner also clean the registry - you may need to run that 2 - 3 times
last resort as its a very powerful program ...... [check for compatability with windows 10 too - ive not used it on 10] its called combofix.
combofix is a bit like chemotherapy - it will fix the virus but it might also take some good/important files in the process.

Hi,
If you got win10 from a Mircosoft download when they first rolled it out all should be good. Unless you got it from another source, a friend, other site.
Though depending on what you had installed prior for antivirus etc is a different matter.
Get rid of Crap Cleaner, hope it is not CCleaner (if so get the latest version. Install CCleaner and run it, weekly.
Next go get SPYBOT Search and Destroy, install it, use the update function for the definitions, immunize, then run a scan. Oh if done right go do the housework, cuppa tea, shopping etc, takes a while depending on system.
As for Free antivirus checkers. AVG. Been running that on one laptop for 6yrs now, no infections, coupled with the above.
If you/anyone is using Glary uninstall ASAP, use the above.
As for Yahoo(More commonly known as YahOOP's), don't know, no longer use yahoo, or microsoft web stuff. Go Google, mircosoft email when exiting can crash your web browser in win 10. That's nowt, or just go Google Gmail.
If you understand any of the above and it works, give us a PM.
Vida.
