"When people talk about the 80's it's always queen, Duran Duran, culture club and so on that get a mention. But what about band's that seem to be forgotten but made some cracking song's? Although by the mid 80's I had pretty much stopped listening to mainstream stuff in favour of hip hop and electro (yup I is old) The odd band or song I enjoyed. Always liked OMD, the maid of orleans. Big country. Chance. " Mr mister. Only had one album, then a greatest hits for some reason, but the album is awesome

"Has to be Scritti Politti - Green's wonderful voice and brilliant song writing. "Absolute" is in my all-time Top 5 singles." Oh yes, his ethereal, androgynous singing voice had a truly beautiful quality, I always attempt to copy it whenever I sing Scritti Politti - also check out 'Sugar and Spice', and unusually funky number with a distinctly cheeky tone to the music. I also want to mention Baltimora, most people only know Tarzan Boy, but they put out many songs which where vastly better, yet got next to no recognition ![]()
