Newcastle and Gateshead

stuart lancaster finally falls on his sword and resigns as england coach...

so... question.... who replaces him....

I think the england backroom start needs a clearout...

I don't think it needs to be a southern hemisphere coach.... I think shaun edwards or mike ford at bath would both do a brilliant job....

"Bring back Sir Clive..."

I actually wondered with a whole 4 years to go to get it right, whether Clive Woodward might be tempted to return.

There's a teeny tiny clue in the thread title

Coming from a Welsh man, England have a player pool where if they really wanted to be, could be great. However man management and keeping control of the players needs addressing. Along with the captaincy. Chris Robshaw is appalling

here

Maybe a Southern hemisphere coach is needed. (Surprised they are already linking Cheika, Jones, Gatland and Schmidt )

Farrell, rowntree and Catt should also go

i don't think gatland or schmidt would leave wales or ireland...

cheika should have been the choice 3 years ago when he was coaching leinster...but that bird has flown...

i think if you were looking southern hemisphere coach then eddie jones would be smart... plus a lot of his back staff have english and european connections......

Eddie Jones gets my money plus a clearout of the backroom staff, and a change of policy to allow those playing in mainland Europe to be eligible to be picked.

But then I support Scotland so may be l should suggest the Namibian coach with the Georgian backroom staff.

It doesn't have to be southern hemisphere, but of the realistic candidates, I would go fir Eddie Jones, and I would like Edwards involved.

I would hVe said Schmidt or Gatland, but they wouldn't come here .

Mind you, I thought Martin Johnson should have been kept on, and I wouldn't be too upset if they got him back.
