Happy 40th anniversary.

Remember banging my head to this in Xmas 1975. I was 18. Omg am I old or what!!!

Is 10/11 when it first charted?

Cos it was released in October.

Anyway, for those interested the original multitrack leaked onto the Internet a few years back, so you can listen to piano or vocal etc in isolation. However well you think you know it, you will hear something new (plus alternate takes of some bits)

Yes, Night at the opera album released in October, BR taken from it, and charted 40 years ago yesterday.

My dad had it on a cassette compilation of tracks recorded off the radio.

It was marked "pop music 1950-61", which made it seem even more outrageous..

brian may and kerry ellis did a version in italy this year with choir backing singer , and about 40 musicians, type in brian may verona on youtube, the opera singer make a mistake at the end, the conductor get really carried away, ive watched it a few times

When B/R was first released I thought it was great. Something new and different.

Now, forty years later I find it pretentious, over produced and rather silly.

Pity really, as I do like Queen mostly, just not that song.
