I've been putting it off, but it's time for the Xmas tree and decorations to come down.

Have you already done it or are you holding off until Epiphany on the 6th?

My house is going to look bare without the tinsel

I need to traipse out to my folks house to get the box for mine... take it down and then traipse back out there to stash it in their loft.

Some years I think it's more grief than it's worth!

I was threatening to take mine down since the tree stopped working on Thursday however I didn't actually manage to take them all down until Saturday night.

They're all packed up and back in the garage now.

By lunchtime on new years day they were all taken down, boxed and placed back in their hiding place - the loft.

Thank God!

They were nice when they went up but it's always nice to see the back of them too

It's like magic in my house! Pulled up outside the house on 17 and the tree with twinkly lights was in the window, and fairy lights in the porch.

Went out today, pulled up outside the house at 4pm, no tree, no twinkly lights...daughter has decided it's all over for another year!

House seems strange being back to normal!

We tend to leave our tree up all year,

stops having to take the dog for a walk!

Taken mine down yesterday, the tree is the longest job of all, but doesn't half look strange when it's all gone.

Mine are 'down' but theyre still 'up' - just had the house renovated and have now got a proper staircase and door to the attic so I carried both decorated trees (lol not real pine) straight up there (broke one bauble and bent the star)put them in the corner and covered with a sheet draped over the eaves So its christmas all year round in the attic..... its gonna serve me right if the lights fail next year and I have to undecorate than decorate all over again with new lights but its a gamble Im willing to take....

Not only did we take ours down yesterday but this morning we got up and went to the dump with the tree, bottles, cardboard, paper and all the other Xmas debris; THEN we hovered up all the fallen pines from the laminate floor, washed it and put special stuff on the rug to try to get out all the beer and wine stains AND we put the the decorations back in the loft.

We felt so righteous that we spent the afternoon in the pub getting pissed!
