If someone messages you and you read it. Is it really that hard to reply even if it is a no thanks. I understand not all messages can be read but the ones that are should at least get a reply or are half the members on here been brought up with no decency or manners |

Sometimes I get messages that just say 'hi'..... that's it.... no dialog and so I say 'hey how are you... are you enjoying the site' or something similar and I get a reply that says 'yea it's ok'..... or something similar.... They just get deleted... there's no effort no proper convos .... its like swimming through glue xxx |

this is an ongoing problem a lot will tell you to forget it and move on ,a lot will tell you if they send a polite no thanks that encourages another message and a lot will say they get so many messages they can't reply to everyone ,some will even block you    |

If I replied to every message I got I wouldn't have the time to perv...plus you can do the polite thing and say no thanks then you get the why ? or well didn't want to meet you anyhow. Its being rude as if you read the site FAQAs its all in there. I used to reply to everyone when I first joined now I just reply to people who interest me and I say that on my profile.
Don't get ya knickers in a twist if you don't get a reply from a total stranger...move onto the next. |

problem is some people don't understand the word,, no,,and think because you message them back with,, "thanks for the message but your not what I'm looking for",, it somehow translates as "please send me another message,", |

Why would you want an inbox full of rejection? How would that make your experience on fab any better?
Perhaps they have the decency and Manners not to hurt someone's feelings by telling them they're not interested.
Why can't you have the decency to understand that a no reply means not interested? Or that people are not obliged to reply to anything just as you are not obliged to message them? |

No response is a response., it means not interested.
Perhaps it's rude but honestly I don't care. I used to reply politely to everyone but that just encourages more messages.
This is online theres no prerogative for me to be polite. I will block/ ignore for whatever reason I wish. That might seem harsh but I have no desire to be a slave to my inbox. |

Its nice to get a reply , but chaps we have to put this in to some perspective.
Woman on here can get upto 100 messages a day. If they reply to them all and the replies to those messages , they would have to spend all day replying.
If I get no reply to a message I just think they aren't interested and just move on.

On the rare occasion these days that I send a message, once it's sent, I delete it straight away
That way, if... sorry, when its deleted, I'll never know, thus allowing me never to worry about it and get on with important stuff
And if I do get a reply, then that's always a nice surprise! |

Where do you draw the line?
If some 'winks' you, should you message them explaining why you never winked back?
Or if someone sends a friend invite shoud you have to message them to tell them why you never accepted it?
If you say "hello" to someone in the street and they don't reply would you deel the need to ask them why they didn't say hello back?

I think it is perhaps easier for guys on here to reply to messages purely due to the volume that are received, a couple/single lady is simply going to be snowed under with messages and therefore can not reply to each and every one, where as a guy will (in all probability) be able to reply to the ones he gets..... I don't think it is anything to do with manners or decency in most cases, however that alone does not remove the feeling that it is, all you can do is be pleasant and respectful and if you get a reply then think you are lucky that you beat about a million (exaggeration) others to be picked for a reply. |

I don't mind getting nothing just not what some are looking for, but its one that say hello and you start to chat then they either block you or just delete your msg , surely you can see sorry not my type. |
