It is short for Owner Platinum to represent your heightened standing on the site.
When you start a thread, you become an honorary platinum member for a week or for as long as the thread runs whichever is greater.
You will notice it brings with it a variety of benefits.
Should your thread reach 175 posts, the platinum membership is applied for life or until you leave the site whichever comes sooner.
