Respond to a simple 'Hi' message if you found the sender very pleasing to the eye and had a half decent profile ?

Would you delve further to see if he/she/they had more to offer or simply dismiss ?

Always. Even if they have a shit profile there's a person behind it. Some are just as bland. Some are bloody good fun. -)

I'll be honest if I get a 'hi' message and nothing more I delete it, I've probably missed out on some really nice guys this way that may not know how to start a conversation

Yes. I'm relatively shallow on a sex site.

However, if I delved deeper and found nothing, then I wouldn't take it much further.

I would at least say hi back and see if they talk a bit more. Some people are shy but they may be nice.

Don't get me wrong if after a few messages there still not talking ill ignore xx

This.

All conversation starts somewhere. It may not lead anywhere, a start is a start though.

I suspect it's different for men, we *sweeping generalisation* probably have less mail to answer.

I might have a different view if I received 300 hi messages a day.

Brighton - even Hove!

I'd answe and see what came back. As good looking as they might be, if they can't spark any interest in my head, I'm not interested.

No!

If they're the other end of the country (and I only meet locals), black (when I only meet white), Dom (when I only meet subs)...get the picture, their physical appearance has absolutely no bearing in my decision making.

Easter just around the corner!

Saying just a hi in a first message isn't the worst crime going,it's when you are still having a one word conversation three messages in! I tested this recently,it got dull!

Yes, it's mostly about looks for me. Frequently though the ensuing conversation consists of us sending entire sentences with questions and the sender of the "hi" message continuing to be monosyllabic, we give up at that point.

Hi

I would look at their profile and respond but the lady-folk may get too many to do the same, there's a big body of thread evidence to suggest that at least

No I've just cum and am debating to rent either a bycycle or a scooter now I've learned that scooters can use the cycle lanes here in Holland

Get the scooter!

I'd just have a wank and not bother replying. I don't like boring one word messages.

I put about a good 20 minutes into my messages to the profiles I like! Thinking that if they see I've put genuine effort they might give me a Hi!! But genuinely I get nothing back! It can be a bit disheartening at times! But I'm sure one day I might get a Hi

Yes , and it would go one of two ways .

If they were local we would answer with - hi , fancy a meet ?

If they were quite a distance away - we would say hi , sorry we can't travel too far , but we would love to meet you sometime .

No I like a message to tell me something about the person ..a simple hi is bland, boring and lazy

Same goes for profiles.

The person may be good looking but if there is nothing behind it doesn't work for me I'm afraid

I regularly respond to "hi". I say hello back and wait to see what the next move is. Some are so flummoxed they never message again, others move straight to wanna fuk or suk my cok (those spellings are standard) and just occasionally it's lead to a proper conversation and even more occasionally meets.

My Own Little World

It very much depends on my mood and how many pushy, vulgar, sick, stupid or boring messages I have just had to plow through.

But if I'm in a good mood I will reply to every message regardless of distance, lack of pics, the 'will fill this in later' on an over a year old profile or a complete lack of common interests.

*FYI today isn't a good day to send a hi message

yes we would respond to a simple "hi" and have done,

not everyone is super articulate and can write a ballad as an opening message, could be that they are shy and maybe a little intimidated by some profiles, i know we have been.

its all about writing the right thing to the right person on the right day and you might just get lucky
