...at the checkout, some ratbag chav complaining she had TSS after leaving her tampon in and losing it/forgetting about it for TWO WHOLE MONTHS.
Wtf?
How the fuck does anyone lose or forget stuff in their fannies?

I guess once you've forgotten about it, you've forgotten about it! I don't think 3 days after my period ended I'd go "Hmm, did I take that tampon out?" especially if it had....gone right up there.
Unpleasant anyway. And not the kin of thing I'd discuss when I could be overheard! |

"What's TSS.
I'm not sure I even want to k ow though.
How how do people do the vom smiley it's not on my list "
Toxic Shock Syndrome can be caused by bacteria if a tampon is in too long.
And gross to be talking about that in public.. |

It can happen if the woman forgets she has one in and puts in another. A couple of girls I worked with in Secondary school had TSS,they were hospitalised and very ill. |

I sat next to them for ages and didn't notice a smell. They weren't rat bag chavs either. |

Yeah, I got to overhear a pretty graphic description - she wasn't feeling well, saw her GP, went for a scan and there it was, all swollen up and huge.
Checkout conversation. The whole shop could hear.
Two.
Months.
Not - 'd*unk for 24 hours then hungover for a few days', but two months.
The fucking idiot is so lucky to be alive, and not have her muff melted out.
I find it staggering. |

Gone right up where?? Like, do they go up your cervix? I stopped with tampons years ago, so I really don't get it :/

It's a lot more common than you would think. I guess not everyone talks about it at the checkout.
Many women believe they have disposed of one tampon and inserted another. They have removed the latter but not the first.
There are lots of creases and crevices that a tampon can hide behind too.
It's not that shocking or gross really. It's just one of those things that we usually don't get to hear about.

Winters coming, perhaps she was going into hibernation? |

Is this male or female half of your profile finding it staggering? Out of interest?

Female, who used to use tampons for years then stopped. I could always feel them in me, so I really don't get how anyone could lose one? |

Obviously other people can't. Why do people assume that everyone is the same. |

My main thing here is she left it in for two months, got TSS, and told the whole shop about it.
We aren't all the same obviously, but that's still fucked up, or are you saying that's normal
If it is, thank god I'm not. |

Holy hell, how could you not know?? I find that really weird that she forgot..
I once sat in a pharmacy where a smart suited lady was sitting next to me. She pulls out her phone, dials up her friend (I can only assume) and then goes into full on conversation quite loudly how she has bacterial vaginosis and it smells ect and how she hopes he didn't notice.. |
