What does this actually mean? I've seen it used so much on the forums and I'd love to know how you interpret it.

Brighton - even Hove!

It doesn't mean a guy with a long cock that's shoved it up his own arse....

I think it's people that other people consider to be snobbish. It tends to develop the instant they have been declined a meet though.

When I get called it, it's usually supposed to me arrogant it seems. Or that I think I'm better than them (which I totally am )

I have read profiles which have made me think they're up their own arses and they do tend to be woman's profiles on the whole.

Those profiles that expect men to jump through hoops to meet them

I've seen some men's and couples profiles like this too but it is women's in the main.

Is that a bad thing though? I see it often associated with women and it seems to me to be mysoginistic.

Some people may think my profile sounds as though I am 'stuck up my arse' However, I don't expect any man to jump through hoops to meet me, all I expect is respect and able to hold a decent conversation, so very hard to find up here!

I'm an arse and I've had a few things stuck up it.

Including my own head sometimes.

Whatever people may say or think about me is none of my business, and if that's stuck up then I don't really mind being stuck up as I'm preserving my sanity

It may not be 100% on thread, for which I apologise, but this trend for despising someone for being "posh" really annoys me.

Why is it wrong to have had a reasonable education? To speak without swearing every 3 words? To have manners?

If that's "posh" then the world is a strange place because I was literally born in a council house, in a working class family, close relatives were union officials, in other words I'm working class, but I know how to behave.

Yet I'm told I'm "posh". Well that's fine by me then.

I'm posh and proud of it. M.

It's auto-arse-licking to the extreme.

Not at all, I agree everyone is entitled to preferences on their profiles but some profiles are asking for everything but money to have sex with them.

It means you don't wanna fuck the guy, that guy thinks he's god's gift though and you should want him...you should be begging to suck his cock but he was nice enough to offer it instead so he can't figure out why you don't wanna suck him off, or have his babies, or let him fuck you up the ass, whatever.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

There is a strange inverse snobbery on here at times.

I always think it means they just don't share someone's opinion. When it's used on the forums anyway. As in 'How dare you disagree with me? There must be something wrong with you'. I may be wrong and anyone is free to disagree with that synopsis since I don't really mind if people don't think the same as me.

Doesn't fawn at my feet is another way of looking at it.

Away from fab, it would usually denote someone with an affected air of superiority and it does mean that here too.

There is nothing wrong with being posh - posh accents makes me melt completely! People do hopelessly confuse manners with undeserved elitism and arrogance.

Back on topic though and I fully expect to shoot myself in the foot here - I believe the phrase stuck up themselves is particularly apt when describing a large amount of female profiles here. It's not a man's market here though so I don't really blame the ladies for demanding a higher standard than they warrant. Just envious really and totally shocked they get away with it.

Everyone's got the own standards, but like a post above, can't stand it when someone can't string a sentence together without the need to swear, to some we may be up ourselves for the above.

I don't think it's anything to do with posh .

miss innocent hit the nail on the head - it's those who think they are better than anyone else .

A truly unpleasant trait and a guaranteed way to lose our interest straight away .
