Currently working on a project in work that's had me put in some stupid amount of overtime the past few weeks, yesterday I started at 7am and finished a 10pm, it's not the longest I've worked but damn close, so, what's the longest shift you've worked?

Derbyshire

7am till 7pm the following day on a night-time possession on the A13.

7am -10pm were standard hours during the summer months, but I was young, away from home, and the overtime helped clear our first mortgage by the time I was 33!

I once worked an 8 hour morning shift cleaning schools from 7-4 (including a mandatory hour lunch break), took half an hour to go to the dentist, then went to cover someone's night shift from 5-2 (including a mandatory hour lunch break).

By the end of the day I was so tired that my father had to come pick me up because I couldn't walk home (I was 19).

Pre Christmas in the hotel business I used to move in for a couple of weeks, and would regularly be awake for 24 hours sorting the party nights... I think the record may have been 29 hours straight, but I was young and fit back then

I used to work in a care home on nights, used to regularly do 5pm till 9am, on one occasion it had snowed so hard over that 16 hours that my car needed digging out, and other staff hadn't made it in, so I stayed to cover, I had cat naps in arm chairs, but ended up there for 4 days.

I used to manage a golf club (when I say manage a golf club don't go thinking it was posh, it was piss poor and I was everything, reception, office, bar manager, events coordinator and anything else.

Friday's and Saturdays, all through out the year I would start at 6am and especially at Christmas and wedding season still be there at 3am, cleaning and everything else.

Fucking hell no wonder my life went to shit!

Doncaster

I once did 5am to midnight for 3 weeks straight without a day off. In that job it took me an hours travel time each way I managed 2 hours sleep a night if I was lucky. It's actually illegal to work like but I had no choice it was that or shut shop

Cannock

Set off from cannock at 4am drive down to Torquay to do a plastering job, arrived about 9am, worked all day through until 6pm with a one hour lunch break, then drive home arrived back in Cannock about 11pm, so that is 19 hours.

I've done all nighters before to get funding applications in and that sort of thing but it's thankfully rare for me.
