Was a good idea at the time... I've not actually stepped foot in a gym since 2006 so this should be interesting. Wish me luck, or at least a speedy recovery.

Edinburgh

I know it's not easy to find time to go to the gym, but going early in the morning might not be the best idea - and not just because it feels crap to get up so early .

I read some research a few years ago that looked at people's health depending on when they took their exercise. Turns out that those who exercise in the morning are more likely to catch any illnesses going around.

They put it down to the fact that your immune system starts low in the morning and takes a few hours to ramp up. Exercise depresses your immune system while you're doing it as well. The two combined make you more likely to catch cold.

Still, if it's the only time you can exercise it's probably better to go for it.

And good luck, whichever way you go.

Unless you end up using your little mouth spelling trick on her then the trainer isn't doing her job properly! Hope it goes well!

That pain you're going to feel for the next 2 or 3 days? That's all the good the session is doing! Enjoy!

I'm sure you will 2st won't take long at all. I'm sure you will feel the strength increase quicker than that

I joined the gym last week it may take me a while but its the fitness I'm focussing on this time, rather than the weight. I get obsessed with the scales lol xx

My scales can be my best friend or my worst enemy depending. I need to throw them away but can't bring myself to. You'll do fantastically! x
