Do you ever sit back and look at the human race, and wonder if it has gone insane, totally. The way we live everyday. I had this thought whilst watching a bit of telly the other day, just flicking through the channels, I thought, we really have lost the plot, more so than ever, and during that moment of clarity I realised I'm one of the worst. I don't know, what a bleedin state of affairs.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

What do you mean, 'gone' mad? Humanity has never been sane.

I don't have the energy to deal with that level of self-loathing.

Trouble is the you have the more you can lose. You can't get out of the system once you're in it. And nobody asks you if you want to opt out or not.

Walk softly upon the earth.

May its beauty forever surround you,

its wonders forever astound you.

May its wisdom delight you,

its music invite you

to dance and to play and to sing.

May you love and be loved by all that you meet;

may you know and practice compassion.

Rejoice in the earth and in all of creation.

Rejoice in life.

Sanity is more complex than the universe itself, because if everyone was the same, there'd be no different perspectives to see from and progress would never be made.

However, if everyone functioned in a creative and progressive mindset, who would carry out the repetitive tasks that make up the bulk of our societies requirements?

And what if being insane was not classed insane, but merely a coping mechanism for dealing with emotions and memories that cannot be contained within a conventional mind?

So channel hopping could be abstractly linked to such behaviour as the brain cannot handle boredom, and has no naturally developed instinct to manage this relatively new feeling in the general population?
