Female pubic hair - Turn On or Off?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Firstly, please excuse my ignorance on this subject!
These questions are mainly directed at all you ladies out there but if the guys want to chip in with their preferences too then please feel free.
It seems to me that far more women are now shaved 'down there' than used to be the case in my younger days.
Ladies: Do you consider it normal to shave your pubes or keep that pussy hairy? Which is more comfortable? If smooth, at what age did you start to get rid, and why? What methods do you use?
Have pussies gone the same way as armpits and legs? Maybe it's just a younger generation thing and I'm out of touch? |

I do whatever I feel like. I haven't shaved in a couple of weeks or so, and I've just noticed I've a bald patch. I don't know what's caused it. I guess I'll have to shave from now on as it looks a bit odd. |

I have always preferred the shaved look and "my type" are either red heads or blondes so tend to be fair anyway.
I have to admit giving oral to a lady with a really hairy pussy is on my bucket list ! |

I removed it all a few weeks ago and hated it. I thought I looked like the Heavenly beings from Dogma. I much prefer neatly trimmed with a smooth undercarriage. |

Its normal to me to shave and it's more comfortable for me too. I've no idea how long I've been shaving. Probably going on twenty years..
I will never let it grow again. Ive quite a phobia about it it truth be told. I just dislike body hair. Smooth all the way for me. |

I'm a trim and edge girl. I suffer with eczema and if I shave then it flares up and I look like I've got something contagious!
I can't wax either as most waxes have a similar effect.
And I find it offensive to be told (as I have been) that if I don't take it all off then it's disgusting and unhygienic |

I hardly ever shave now. It's more comfortable and doesn't give me painful ingrowing hairs or shaving spots. Plus,it's an arse ache trying to get every hair. Contrary to what people have said on here it's not unhygienic and I don't smell of piss or sweat. I wash exactly the same as when I do shave bare. It feels better because my skin doesn't stick together or chafe. |

I don't know how you ladies that shave all the time do it ... I have sensitive skin and would be all sorts of irritated and itchy down there if i shaved every other day (which is odd i suppose since the armpits dont seem to mind it)
That being said i actually dont like being hairy but i have to put up with it between waxes or on the odd occasion when the timing is off i will shave for a meet and then regret it for a few days after |

Honestly I use an antibacterial cleanser like dettol, and mosturise lots. The dettol helps to stop the ingrown hairs or bring them to the surface quickly and the moisturiser helps with any dry/chaving patches |

I use a post shave gel to reduce bumps and ingrown hairs in that region. It's called sass. I think my skin just got used to it as I've been shaving since my early teens.
I had a zip incident with the bush and vowed to kill the fucker off |

Weird tip that I learnt ages ago, based on the fact that you don't get ingrown hairs when you shave under your arms. After you shave, rub a bit of roll on deodorant on your pubic mound. Really. |

I just don't let it grow back, otherwise it would be so itchy. I use a cleancut daily with baby powder. Its the bee's x |

I'm with you, no idea how people can be bothered shaving! And my pet hate is a guy that's shaved, but now its stubbly and it's like a fucking cactus on your clit |

"I regularly shave my cock and balls. Guess I should have divulged that in my op!"
I had a look through single guys profiles last night. Nearly everyone leads with a cock pic and a good load could of done with a shave or a trim in my opinion. I know some people don't mind it but I hate pubes in my mouth lol.

lol at the cactus!
And to the person that said they never let it come back and just shave every day ... My skin would be on fire i need to give mine till its past the itchy stage before i could shave again or its actually painful which is why id rather just have the waxing pain and have it last longer |

For the girls that wax is it sore?
I had a home waxing kit but was always to scared to try it lol
My skin burns after it so I use my bf's balm he uses on his face after a shave and that cools it. He's also gave me a pre treatment that helps but I've not tried it yet.
Day after I shave I use moisturiser and found this helps to but no way could I shave every day. Every other week unless I was meeting someone xx |

The more often you get waxed the less it grows back and each time is easier. The best way! |

its a comfort thing for me. i like to keep it trim but sometimes i will let it go longer than i should and it becomes a comfort issue.. nothing worse than getting a pube caught on your undies..ugh

It's not pleasant, but it's well worth it IMO. Every 4-6 weeks, and no itchy regrowth. I'm a qualified waxer but I don't do my own bikini line - much easier left to someone else! |

It's not a younger generation thing. I first shaved mine when i was 17, and so were many of my friends at the time, although it was itchy as it grew back so many of them stopped doing it. |

I must confess, I have recently wondered what percentage of women, across a whole age range, now shave or trim heavily ?
My guess is that it is far more common amongst certain groups of people,ie swingers/ more sexually liberated people, than the average housewife, mum, maybe even teen. Those groups I imagine are occasional trimmers/shavers/Waxers, possibly only as a Bikini line measure, when holidaying. Just my ramblings ...lol |

This "unhygienic" philosophy is pure bullshit. If a lady wants to keep her pubic hair, for whatever reason, it should be perfectly normal and acceptable. You can be totally devoid of pubes, and still be unclean. |

Well to be honest, I have a hairy one right now and being as I am a size 22, I struggle to do anything about it. Sad but true and I do not worry about it. X |
