Dad's side, academics, bankers, doctors
Mum's side builders
Mum and dad school drop outs who went on to be a cleaner and a farm labourer, so I grew up below the poverty line. Don't know what that makes me. |

Due to dishonesty and inequality within the work place, there is no official social class model, so will depend which one you are looking at. Although, I've no idea where that one came from! Never heard of the 'english class'. I'm guessing the Jeremy Kyle class would be what Murray calls the underclass. |

I disagree. Especially where I work. There is a distinct feeling of being looked down upon in my role from the roles higher up the hierarchy.
Or maybe that's something else.
Just reminds me of the sketch with John cleese and the two Ronnie's on class. |

I am one of those supposed tax dodging immigrants so not sure what class I am in? I get told I should go home on here a lot if that helps.
We don't have class categories where I come from you either have it or you don't. |

Well in my English class you'd be in detention!
Itching to 'red pen' this.
Although red not allowed now, has to be green... sigh... |

Everyone
Only a low class person would ask that question

"Years ago I recognized my kinship with all living beings, and I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on earth.
I said then, and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free." |

Actually, that would put anyone in a better class; the honest class; and that is the only kind of 'class' which should be important |

Yes, I agree. But I was also joking - much like your 1000 veris comment. At least, I hope you were joking, too.

From a government viewpoint I am probably classed as upper middle class (ie my home is all mine no mortgage, salary in the tax bracket of 40%, have a good bank account with high savings plus own a nice car, 3 motorbikes etc.)
But I class myself as working class as I still have to get up at 6am then do a full day's work and back home for tea.
I just need those 6 numbers to come up all at once |

I was upper class in English O-levels
Used to enjoy reading Dickens and Shakespeare, but also had to do Lark Rise to Candleford, and that bored me to tears |

The concept of class is dead.
To me, class is the way someone comports themselves at all times.
It's dignity, composure, and above all treating everyone with the same respect, regardless of who they are. |

Working class by birth. Upper working by upbringing. Middle class by education and profession apparently. Far too unimportant to make a difference unless you're really really posh where nepotism trumps meritocracy so I don't really concern myself with class. I'm me. A discrete human being. |
