Just watched Porridge again on gold....40 years on and I still piss myself laughing at it...Nice one Norman Stanley Fletcher.

Great writing by Dick Clement and Ian La Frennis,has made this comedy masterpiece a timeless classic,excellently executed by Ronnie Barker and Richard Beckinsale

There's an urban myth about an Edinburgh student who tried to economise, and foil lined a drawer in his chest of drawers, filled it with porridge and sliced his meals out of it.

I don't know how old it was but he apparently got scurvy
