You know that's true! But a friend just got back from cuba so..."

I bought Cuban cigars when I was in the Cayman islands as part of a cruise. On the final day we were warned that we had to either smoke them or throw them over the side before we entered US coastal waters. The number of people chain smoking the damn things that day was unreal. Personally I couldn't see what the fuss was about.

Many of the cigars made in and around Miami are made using the same tobacco as used in the cigars made in Cuba. When many Cuban's fled to mainland America in the 50's and 60's (many of the tobacco fields were nationalized through the new communist regime) they brought the tobacco seeds with them and there's a thriving Cuban cigar industry in and around Miami, particularly on Calle Ocho. Bello is one of the finest brands.

I tend to stick with corona's from the Dominican rep, just because there alot cheaper, although I do smoke cohibra size at work which vary from anywhere central America to canary islands.

I do have a box of montecristo coronas that I keep for special occasions with a nice bottle of red .

The only thing I do know is...

The cheapest place to get hold of them...
