Begging or innocent fun?

Personally I wouldn't allow my children to knock on doors trick or treating!

Younger kids dressing up and going round with their parents = innocent fun.

Teenagers with lipstick scars painted on = slightly menacing.

Where I used to live the houses tjat invited trick or treaters put a pumpkins, candles etc outside or in the window to show they were participating and you could knock on the door. If they didn't you didn't go there.

I take my kids but observe this

Central

I think it's ok with people that you know as friends and if it's agreed in advance - and if kids are accompanied.

Otherwise it's a dreadful time for many people, fearful of that night.

I take my daughter - we come out about quits after the neighbours kids have been to ours. We only visit houses that are obviously welcoming and very local.

I don't see the problem, fun sapper!!

Yes I put a pumpkin out or a Halloween candle. Trick or treat wasn't really popular when our kids were small and unheard of except in Peanuts when I was a kid, it was "penny for the guy" for us.
