Do you pay the bank for the pleasure of banking with them?
We have a Spanish current account and only recently have been paying proper attention to the statements. We get twice a year charges of 38€ for the pleasure of us both having a debit card.
Now we have noticed that every two months various sums have been going for the last 3 years. They now charge bi-monthly for processing direct debits!
And finally a maintainence charge of 27€ a year just to have the account!
This year alone we have paid close on 150€ just to have an account to pay bills from 
Don't let anyone tell you having a Spanish home is a dream. In reality its a money pit. |
