Agree with you, they never really used Matt really, the only episode I think he really stood out for me is the one where the tardis was alive

Personally I thought he was too young, the doctor has to have a sense of gravitas, Tennant had it but smith just was silly. Capaldi has gravitas in spades but can be silly too. It's sad though that so many fickle fan girls jumped ship, not really fans

Smith is my favourite doctor. He had that 'old man in a young body' down to a T. Not sure about Capaldi still, he certainly doesn't hold my concentration the way Smith, Remnant or Eccleston did.

Despite my username I've never been a fan of Dr Who.

I LOVED Matt Smith!

He surpassed every other doctor, in my eyes. Wonderful for the role. Probably because he was a bit odd looking!

All a matter of taste though, obviously.

I've never bought into Capaldi. He admits that he's never got to grips with the role.

DT was good. Not so much Eccleston, though.

Another Smith fan! I was feeling very conspicuous for a while there.....

I love that man, we go to comic con regularly and always stop by, great picture of him dragging my eldest in for a picture! Don't even ask about my David tenant photo shoot!! Lovely man, shame the photographer cocked it up!

Tennant rules out of 'new' docs for me. Smith was ok. Don't think wtiters are doing Capaldi any favours...

And bitey....

Jury is back and they say bring back Matt and that ginger bird .... I miss pond

Capi has just no warmth as a dr .

And where is river song , ( she'd get it more times than she can count). This female master is winning me 'round thou, I'd like that squeely joc voice giving it 'oh harder' ; bent over my knee, little hob nail boots kicking about ....

Or we should stop watching kids shows

Ditto. I like Capaldi, though he seems to channel Tom Baker occasionally! The intro to 'Before the Flood', where he monologued about Beethoven's Fifth was brilliant. Still waiting for him to say 'Cunting Dalek Omnishambles' though...

Yes I enjoyed her, deliciously evil I'd say.

I think capaldi is far more old school doctor but needs better stories. I like that every story seems to be a two parter but there needs to be more to them

Not a fan of her either , she was ok in the impossible girl. Storey line ...

I do agree with the channeling Baker comment above

Tom baker will always be the best he could do eccentric naturally. Most of the new who's have been poor capaldi is the nearest to the classic who's. The worst assistant was Katherine Tate, jeez she was a piss poor actor.

Dr Who.....ummmmm

The current series not doing much for me, neither did the last one. To bloody boring, since he took over as head writer, rather dismal, and just background noise. Not even going think of buying said two series with the current incarnation, not even watched a full episode of the above yet.

As for the New Doctors, past three been great, except Matt Smith, took a season warm to, but bought his version, Capadli, is like going to ALDI...you got a cheap version. Even the cgi stuff is out of place. Sorry but the nail is back in the Dr's Coffin inn the current format....

Along with Star Wars, James Bond, the Simpsons and millions of other programs, I've never seen Dr Who.

Loving this series so far (although still to watch last weeks episode) - I think Capaldi is doing a great job and is very much an old skool Doctor!

The 'under the lake' 2-parter was a great 'base under siege' story, very traditional and like the stories of my youth!

Get used to it m'dear as this whole series is 2-parters! One thing I'm not liking is the sonic sunglasses. I mean, what!?

It's the Whovian equivalent of Jar Jar Binks

See I always preferred the old school serials like Dalek invasion of Earth from William hartnel I think that was a 6 parter.

Oh those stupid bloody glasses.
