Quietly now while I turn the page
Act one is over without costume change
The principle would like to leave the stage
The crowd don't understand.
Love the whole song but they are my favourite ever lyrics

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
The quiet bit in I Don't Like Mondays before the big finish.
There's one line in Goodbye To Love that is sung in one breath...
"Time and time again the chance for love has passed me by and all I know of love is how to live without it"
Amazes me every time.
The bit in Whole Lotta Love where the guitar solo first comes in.

"You just can't teach an old God new tricks
But would I be a good Messiah with my low self-esteem?
If I don't believe in myself would that be blasphemy?
Just sport some crummy "holier than thou" facade
Yeah that's what I would do if I were God"

About 6 mins and 50 seconds into Smashing Pumpkins - Silverfuck...
I remember seeing this live in Glasgow and the confluence of lights and wall of sound gave me goosebumps for about a week after!!!

"One likes to believe in the freedom of music,
Where glittering prizes and endless compromises,
Shatter the illusion of integrity-yeah!"
Rush Spirit of Radio
Actually lots of Rush lyrics.
The opening riff of Rock Bottom by UFO
Opening of man on the silver mountain. Rainbow
Opening of She sells sanctuary The Cult
Guitar solo Doctor Doctor UFO
So many more. |

"Anyone have a favourite bit of the song?
The song might be terrible, but that one bit makes it worth a listen...... For example, the drum bit in Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight."
The whole of in the air tonight is awesome! But yes, that bit is THE bit. |

Love this from Primal Scream - Rocks
Dealers keep dealing, thieves keep thieving
Whores keep whoring, junkies keep scoring
Trade is on the meat rack, strip joints full of hunchbacks
Bitches keep a bitching, clap just keeps itching
Ain't no use in praying that's the way it's staying, baby
Johnny ain't so crazy, he's always got a line for the ladies, yeah, yeah, yeah |

"Summertime Blues" is one of the most iconic songs ever recorded. On a technical level, it was pretty much a "first" with overdubs and multi layered recording...
The line, "I'm gonna take my problem to the United Nations..." was way ahead of it's time ( more like the kind of thing being done years later ).
The whole song is brilliant and timeless- there isn't anything or anyone now who can beat it or come close to the talent and creativity of Eddie. |

This may be a bit sad, but I really love the production on "Think Twice - by Celine Dion" just where the vocal ends for the guitar solo.... the last word just seems to "become" the guitar.
Rest of the song is shite though

I'm a lyrics girl here's today favourite, penance by Device.
In the perfect dark, a botticellian angel exists
The elusive partner puts her key in my hand
A fairly simple gesture, shrouded in evil As she distorts,
it becomes easy to understand Lost in her piercing eyes... As everything around me, dies! |

Lyrically, one of my favourites is from I'll stand by you ( Pretenders)
When you're standing at the crossroads
And don't know which path to choose
Let me come along, 'cause even if you're wrong.
I'll stand by you.
