I don't cope with stress well at all now. I used to; I did the juggling many balls for a long time until, one night it all blew up on me. Haven't been the same since and stresses of life and ill health are taking their toll on me. My medication helps and giving myself a time out. I used to write things down and prioritise them. My work was never my problem though. |

As someone refusing to take medication the things that help me are being around my kids, which at the minute is hard, I'm in Glasgow they are in north west of England, as Simple as it sounds music is a big thing for me, and depending on the stress level we have both found adult colouring books a good thing

"Wow they're are some intelligent ppl here. Not all numpties " I'm intelligent but have a weird sense of humour. It can come across as numptyness. Laughing is a good stress reliever as it releases endorphins. I suppose the trick is finding something funny to laugh at.

How people differ. My children and grandchildren cause me a lot of stress. Music irritates me and I can't stand colouring in. |

"I use apathy as my stress shield. It's not particularly healthy but is extremely effective."
That and perspective; starving children in Africa and all that jazz. |

It's the madness and energy of the kids that I feel good being around. They don't see me as depressed dad they just see me as dad. |

I'm honestly not too bothered by stress. I have to care about things for them to be stressful, and in all honesty I don't care that much about things other than Marc and my dogs (I don't have kids and my career is no longer something I focus on).
If things ever become hard, Marc helps me and the weight is lifted before I can really feel the stress of it. I try to do the same for him.
I think I'm pretty lucky, actually.

The energy of my grandchildren I can cope with, the noise and arguments I can't. My nerves are shot to pieces so noise makes me feel physically ill. |

Ironically my ex husband was good at counter balancing my stress levels. He is a non worrier and would tell me not to stress out about things. Ironic because he was the cause of a lot of my stress and I ran the house, garden, car and did almost all of the child care . |

That's really sad. I guess I am really lucky then because Marc doesn't cause me any stress (the worst thing he does is work too much ).
We should never be in a position where the closest and most important things/people in our lives are making us feel like that. It is good that you had the strength to get out of it. |

They wouldn't care or change their noise levels. I put my fingers in my ears when it's really getting on my nerves |

By taking as much stress out my life as I possibly can, being stressed doe not help my illness. I decided to look after me and my mental health, its made me more selfish I guess but I've decided I'm important. It's working well. |

Since I've been medicated and having regular sex I can honestly say my stress and anxiety has dropped. Sometimes to the degree it looks like I don't give a shit sometimes, which isn't always good |

Do one thing at a time. Don't leave stuff unfinished or have loose ends in life generally.
Don't just live by goals, allow enjoyment of your time and experiences.
Always make the time for breaks and rest. And manage your health well. Exercise is a great way to alleviate the effects of stress, so do some regularly.
Enjoy what you're doing and make sure that you you're doing enough of what you love.
Having plenty of physical touch and contact (gangbangs?) is great for lowering my stress levels, so maybe even have a professional massage, if you're not getting as much as you could.
Slow Down. There is not a race, except where you make it happen.
And find balance and harmony wherever you can. If something is lacking, such as using your creativity, then make the time for it.
And fun will be great for your body and mind.
