If the government provided solar power to your home, as long as you paid a contribution as well as cut your usage levels -
How much would you be willing to pay and
What percentage of your electricity use could you cut? How would you do it? |

Ma mate had one of those wind turbine things bolted to the side of his house. When it was really windy at night he couldn't sleep because of the noise and it was vibrating his house to bits. He soon fucked it off |

Receiving solar panels so long as I contributed towards them and cut my energy usage?
If they legalised cannabis then I may just fall a lot more in love with the environment and plant a lot of bushes to make myself carbon neutral.
I wouldn't shave either as the steel in razors is harmful to the atmosphere. Not to mention that would make me a crap tranny. |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
I'd pay for the panels if they paid for themselves in 5 years (it's currently between 12 and 16 I believe), and would still be 80% efficient after 40 years (currently 20-25).
I'd struggle to cut electricity much, all bulbs are led, most appliances have good energy ratings, and I switch stuff off. |

We have had solar panels for a number of years now and have enjoyed a drop in our energy costs as a result.
We chose to pay for the panels but could of got them free of charge as the government (taxpayer) would then pay the installing company the Fit payment instead of paying it to us.
In reality the Fit payment pays for the panels and we profit from free energy generated |

My dad's house had solar panels this year.. His constantly tells me the amounts of energy created and used. He's talking about getting a halogen oven to cut energy consumption. He already turns everything off and has energy saving light bulbs. |

I've got them on my rented home, but i don't get any benefit from it as whatever they're making doesn't go to me.
Had to cut down on electric as my bills are ridiculous. I don't use my electric boiler and haven't used my heater for two years, we have saved £300 over the past 2 years. My bills didn't go down until this last one, i think they must owe me some money as well as it doesn't seem a lot for what i've cut out. |
