Why cant we have the search engines a bit more specific like in counties?
I find I am getting results of over 150 miles or more away in places like Kent and Milton Keynes when I am on the south coast

The problem is that it is difficult to do a geographic match by county, when our location is described by postcodes.
For example the SY postcode for Shrewsbury covers not only Shropshire, but also goes across Powys and Ceredigion to Aberystwyth on the coast
A county may also contain more than one postcode district.
.
A simple geocoding de-restrictor of an area search of, say, 20 miles will often throw up places which may be more than 50 miles away by road, as this is calculated by a simple radius of search
Pm me if you want a more detailed breakdown of location and geocoding and the algorithms involved along with a discourse on why location and addressing in the UK is terrible
