Hi... New poster, btw....
When peeps are single, they go out and 'get a life'. People are busy, attractive because they're interesting/ interested, constantly learning, independent. At some point some people forget to do all the above... Have a life, support partner, be interested, bring new things into the relationship etc. I think often then, people either still love their partner but fish elsewhere... Or, over time, gain more and more distance.
I'm not entirely sure this is related to swinging though! People swing for all sorts of reasons from what I can gather!

Well none of my relationships have been based entirely on sex for a start, sex is a lovely part of a relationship but not the be all and end all.
Swinging can enhance the sex side of a relationship, it can be part of your make up not to be monogamous but if your swinging because your whole relationship is boring then its not going to help much |

Sometimes i get very excited that my wife is in my life. To think that someone out there will put up with me and that we managed to find each other still blows my mind! Still look forward to just spending time with her doing stuff, even doing nothing. Waking in the night and snuggling up to her knowing that it wasn't a dream and i AM the luckiest man alive takes some beating!  I sometimes just wish there was a way i could articulate the emotion better. |

We didn't start swinging because our relationship was boring. Quite the contrary.

I don't think they do get boring. Maybe the people in it become boring or complacent but if you both continue to grow as people then it won't be boring at all. In fact you have more private jokes, experiences together and fun if you want that. Both people have to keep it up though, not just one or none of you, which is why people split up eventually.
I was in an 11 year relationship and never got bored of it. Did split up with him but because of other things. |

Only boring if you let them be boring... If there was no fun in my relationship, I would think what was the point. But I would try not to have a relationship end up boring. |

Could it be that modern society fills us with so many expectations, that can never be met, so we enter the relationship these things in mind, and when they are not met we are deeply unsatisfied, and so move on to look for those things elsewhere, thus starting a never ending quest, for something that only exists entirely in our minds? |

We didn't start swinging because we were bored we wanted to expand our experiences and are more in love after 25 years of marriage and certainly make love as often as we can even with two young kids. When playing either singly or as a couple it means we have a child free pass so it is stress free as well. |
