Older eggs tend to do this. Bring the water to the boil, stir the water to create a tornado type effect turn the heat off, drop the egg in and put the lid on. Leave for 3 mins. Perfect every time.

I had one and it was rubbish. I always ended up with overcooked yolks and undercooked whites

I thought they were a pain to wash tbh as the egg stuck all the time..i do think it is easier in just a pan

Northampton

I line a cup with a largish bit of clingfilm

Crack egg in

Loosely tie cligfilm

Drop in boiling water for 4-5 mins depending on size of egg

Job done

Scrambled egg in a microwave? That's cheating, especially when you do the poached eggs correctly. Don't you find the scrambled egg goes watery in the microwave?

I use a poaching pan for mine though but not had any in a while, as gone off them

Not really poaching .....DRY FRY.....I heat a small non stick frypan, crack an egg or eggs into it, a dash of water and put lid on - they self steam. When egg is just getting white coating on the yoke - I remove immediately. This is my form of poached egg without the water......perfect yokes and no extra fat and no mess. People adore my dry fried eggs......oh to breakfast on protein toast now with a soft yellow yoke pouring over it with freshly ground pepper and a short black..mmmmmm

I use silicon egg poachers. Medium sized eggs. 4 mins in a covered pan of boiling water. Perfect

Rugeley

I do them in a frying pan with about an inch of water. Nice on toast with mushrooms.
