This is in no way meant to be discriminatory, it's a personal preference. What is the World coming to? Are we now saying that if your preference is straight, then you're disctiminating against no? Is that then sexual discrimination? There is a check box for race on this site! |

It's not racist to like someone for their colour, but it does seem racist to fetishise someone because of an idea about their colour ... treating someone as a fantasy object because of ethnicity isn't quite the same as liking an eye colour.

I couldn't agree more. I stay well clear as I'm not an object to be used to fulfil someone's fantasy.
I've only ever dated white men, it's not a thing, just my preference.
If I announced that I wanted to 'try' a Chinese guy because I'd never had one, that would be demeaning for the person as I don't want him, per se because I like HIM but specifically because of his race, to try him out!! Wrong on so many levels. |

No it isn't, racism is a belief that members of each race possess characteristics stereotypical for that race. It's especially used to distinguish inferiority or superiority, but that's not the only meaning.
