It was the wife's birthday this week, so tomorrow I'm making an autumn meat and vegetable stew. Slow cooked the whole day, all from fresh and with crusty bread. Obviously very easy, but it usually tastes delicious  |

One of the best things I have ever eaten was called Golabki.
It was home made by the wife's gran, slow cooked in a proper wood burning oven in a small village in Poland. It didn't look the most appealing dish, but it just melted in my mouth and was full of flavour.
It is a large cabbage leaf, stuffed with pork and rice with a tomato sauce. if anyone goes to Poland, look out for it! |

Having made the decision at 14 that I'd love to be a chef and be able to create dishes that would be enjoyed, I think I do 34 years later I still enjoy it maybe not quite as much in the hustle n bustle of working life but I do enjoy entertains friends...
