This is relating to the news.

Two completely separate thing's but why

After 20 year's every time the murder of Stephen Lawrence is talked about they always say "black" teenager..

Now I know it was racially motivated but surely, just saying murdered teenager Stephen Lawrence is far more respectful to his memory?

Or am I missing the point?

Second point

Why do news reports always refer to isis as

So called Islamic state..

It's always so called...

Sorry I know these sound like daft questions but listening to the news on r4 today both points stuck in my head.

I am know for over thinking everything

Glastonbury

1/ The whole point about Steven Lawrence's murder is that it was provoked by the colour of his skin and the terrible police investigation in to it was coloured (if that's the right word) by racial predudice. It goes to the heart of the case.

2/ IS or ISIL or ISIS or Daesh whatever it is that we're calling them this week - they refer to themselves as 'Islamic State' and, very arguably, they are neither of those things. But 'so-called' is now tacked on the front to rob them of legitimacy.

Hope that helps!

What is really annoying is two weeks before an Asian teenager was murdered on the same road nothing gets mentioned and a week apart a white teenager was murdered in Summerstown 3 miles away by a group of Indian teenagers who were sent to India. Murder is awful no matter what colour.
