Hiya Everyone,
By popular demand, I have continued on from hair to discuss makeup.
Any tips you'd all like to share? How long does it take to put on for everyday? How about when going out?
I personally don't wear much. Mostly just chap stick unless I'm heading out, then it's 10 minutes in front of the mirror.
How about you gals?

Sadly I'm not blessed with great skin or good looks so i have to wear make up. I wish i could get away with just a touch of lip gloss and mascara but i have to do a proper job otherwise i look awful. On the plus side, as i do it all the time my everyday make up only takes about 5-10 mins. For evening wear i just vamp up the eyes a bit and wear brighter lip colour. |

I adore makeup I used to be a beauty blogger. My collection probably amounts to about £3000 worth
I have tonnes!
Day to day I wear foundation to even out my skin tone (mostly down to my mixed race heritage) and lippy with my fave brand being illamasqua.
My holy grail product is too faced better than sex mascara. |

I'm not that good at make-up and don't wear it day to day as a result. But I have got good at an upper lid liner due to buying an eyeshadow crayon rather than an eyeliner pen. And the black one makes a really good lid base to do a smokey eye. I use it as a dark primer and layer the colour on top. And have learnt that a dab of light cream eyeshadow in the inner corners and underneath the brow arch makes a smokey eye look fantastic. |

I love makeup and put it on everyday for work. Weekends depends if I'm going out. Im naturally pale and freckly.
I probably wear a lot but I do it in a natural way so its enhancing hats there. For example I only wear a tiny amount of blush and not coloured eye-shadow. It's just what I suit..
For a night out I'd probably wear eye shadow and highlight or that's the only difference. Takes me around 15 minutes xx |

I'm pretty good at it these days. I do love experimenting with bright colours, tends to suit my skintone. Hot pink lippy is a fave |

Nope, got it from my nurse friend - it's a side effect for a treatment but it's a good side effect & very popular - very safe, just a drop of liquid on a brush that you wipe over the top of your eyelash & after a few weeks, the eyelashes will start growing a few mils & look ace |

YouTube. It's the only make-up thing I am now halfway good at if I've got the time and inclination. Purely as a result of video tutorials. |

Day to day I don't wear much make up. Bit of mascara and maybe some BB cream if my skins bad. Full face of make up takes me 10 mins, tops.
For a night out, I would wear false lashes and more eye shadow, so it takes me a bit longer but still no more than 20 mins. |

In use Olay moisturiser and Olay 7 in 1 bb cream with hint of foundation. L'Oréal Infallible powder, Benefit blusher and highlighter, and whatever mascara is on offer I do have one that I found in TkMaxx recently, it's a fibre one which is pretty good. I only wear eyeshadow (L'Oréal) and eyeliner (Maybelline) on a night out.
I could spend a lot of money on make up but I never buy the really expensive stuff, some of the midrange stuff is just as good |

I rarely bother with make up during the day, unless I have an important meeting.
For a night out or a meet it, depends on how bad my skin is as to how long it takes to put on
My thing is red lipstick and I have loads of different ones.

"I've never managed to master putting on false eyelashes. Any tips or brands that are good to use? "
I've used Eylure false lashes before, they come in lots of different styles & I trim them to fit. Put your eye make up on 1st & then apply.
For holidays I have the individual lashes applied, they look amazing albeit a little expensive but last for ages if you look after them. |

I use Estee Lauder double wear foundation, a bit of ysl radiant touch pen, mascara and a lip gloss everyday. I've just got the latest Benefits mascara which I'd great. I'd love to be able to do that whole smokey eye thing but I'm so crap at it My 9 yr old is better at that than me and guess what she's learnt that through YouTube! |

It's called Bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03% (bimat eye drops) - they are a treatment for glucoma - it's on the Internet at about £15/20 a bottle (cheaper to buy in multiply bottles) mainly on Amazon from USA - slight side effect can be eye lids go slightly purple then just stop using them but i know loads who use them & never had problems - it takes about 5/6 to see the difference, a bottle last bout 6 weeks - just need 2 drops in a small brush them wipe over top lash once - but once they start to grow they grow really long & girly x

I wear bb cream, a little sweep of blusher, mascara and something on my lips for everyday; usually a matte pale pink lippy or a gloss depending on how I feel. I have had some assistance with semi-permanent make up though and I also tint my brows. It takes me 5 mins, tops.
For a night out i'll use doublewear foundation, add lashes, a bit more mascara and a bold lip colour. I rarely use eye shadow these days as I feel it doesn't suit me (I can apply it well though so it's a bit of a wasted talent!) If I can be bothered I do a bit of contouring. The night out process can take me 10 mins to 45 mins depending on how much time I have to faff.
Oh, and no day is complete without nail polish! |

I'm a bit envious of you girls who don't worry about/bother with makeup.
I can't get away without wearing some makeup now. I have really dark marks under my eyes and look like I have no eyelashes!
It's amazing what concealer, mascara, blusher and lipstick can do! I love benefit makeup.
They are really good for doing makeovers and tutorials to help you.
The top tip I've recently gleened was good quality makeup brushes to help apply and blend eyeshadow!

I don't really know if I need makeup or not, I'm sure if I had a proper makeover it might improve my looks, but I had one cone a few years ago and I really hated it, couldn't stand the thickness of stuff on my face and was convinced I looked like a clown, it just wasn't comfortable at all

I'm with you. I adore makeup. I'm quite adventurous with it and have recently got into eyebrows.
I love colour and I'm not afraid to use it!
Utube is great for makeup tutorials.
Good brushes are the key, along with blending.
I think of it as an extension of what I'm wearing and I love to glam it up when going to a club.
I probably spend about half an hour on my makeup and hair |

Mine consists of trying to find some 10 year old mascara I left somewhere, trying to apply it avoiding the bridge of my nose then wiping eyeliner off my face because it keeps going in places I didn't put it.
Ten minutes later I rub my eyes and give up. |

"I'm awesome at makeup. The full works every day. If you don't look better with makeup on, you're doing it wrong.
True. It more just that I can't be bothered everyday. I'm laaaaazzy

Do you think many so women would bother with the whole effort of putting makeup on if they had natural beauty? I certainly wouldn't!! |

Yes but how they view themselves is more important than how anyone else views them. |

Very true, and I wouldn't suggest anyone do anything that makes them feel uncomfortable. Just saying I'm happy either way lol |

I'd like that tip please. My eyelashes are very sparse. Especially the lower ones |

If your face is even 1% as sexy as your arse, you've got one very naturally beautiful face
And yes, I see why that is annoying because noone likes to feel uncomfortable and saying things like that can actually reinforce the belief |

Takes me 20 mins just to do my eyebrows. Sounds quite silly but I came from a time when it was OK to pluck the shit out of them! Hopefully with a little more time and patience I'll have the eyebrows I dream of..... |

Off on a tangent but I'm now trying to remember which comedy show had a sketch about a boy with an arse for a face |

I'm lazy too, but I don't want to feel like crap - which is how I look without my makeup on. I just can't pull off the natural look full stop. Hair must be styled, clothes must be smart, makeup must be applied. |

Thanks Fab Queen for the great tip.
I'm happy to go without makeup on non working days and if I'm only going to the supermarket or to visit friends and family.
For work a slick of foundation, blusher, eye liner, mascara and lip gloss.
For nights out I wear a bit more foundation and add a bronzer to the routine. A stronger lip, usually red (my favourite is L'oreal colour riche Scarlett Creme which doesn't bleed or stain teeth and lasts quite well without drying). I sometimes add a subtle dash of eye shadow. My favourite is called Bare Skin by Bare Escentuals. I pray I never run out!
I find too much eye shadow makes me look overdone - OK if I want to look a bit tarty for a fancy dress party but too much for most occasions. I love kohl liner in black and think it gives me a made up look without much else.

I wear make up for work but not when I'm going the shops or whatever.
I've started having to do my makeup at work as I'm always late. Boss turned up early the other day before I had chance to do it and he said I looked knackered! Don't think I'll be giving make-up up any time soon |

I love make up and I love the way you can change your face look by contouring.
I don't wear any in the day but when I go out I take at least an hour to put my make up on. I love the transformation. Admittedly though my make up is always dramatic. |

I like to be quick 10-15 mins and vary from natural skin tones to getting a navvy crew with a cement mixer in to churn the slap before it goes on.
The worst is if I use my face as if I'm Picasso, working on a masterpiece. My artistic talents are not what they once were and canvas is the better medium. I largely don't use my face for art as I resent having to redo a proper look afterwards, wasting my 'talent'. |

I just tend to go with the natural look with make-up!
Brown tones on the eyes, mascara, bronzer, powder etc but all natural tones!
If anyone wants a tip though - instead of foundation I use dove fake tan on my face every day. It gives a natural healthy sun-kissed colour - and won't smear off in hot club/party rooms like foundation can! X |

I used to use dove to get rid of the tired look and bags under my eyes. Need to get some more. Made the mistake of buying a cheap brand last time round and it did the opposite of hydrate my skin |

I very rarely wear make up, I never wear it for work, shopping etc just a bit of BB cream, not because I'm lazy or because I don't care about my appearance I just genuinely do not think that I need to put make up on every day to look good enough to walk out my door, I prefer the more natural look
Having said that if I have a meet or go out I will put some on, thought if I'm honest more because I think others will expect it, I do feel if I met a guy off here and I hadn't put any make up on he would feel I hadn't made an effort and maybe makena dissision about me on that, but when I do wear make up I always wear natural colours, I'm quite dark skinned so tend to wear the bronzing make up, a bit of powder, always do my eyes in Brown's/golds and nuteral lippy |

That's where spraying your face with hair spray comes into play it sets your make up and it doesn't budge |

I spend abou 15-20 minutes every morning, I work from home and some days I don't leave the house apart from walking the dog but I still like to feel nice and look good for when he comes home. If I'm going out I can spend 30-45 minutes, I'm a fan of pretty expensive make up so it seems a shame to own it and not use it. The only time I go without it is if I'm on holiday I give my skin a break. |
