what do you have in your cupboards?

Scotland - Aberdeen

Now sometimes I even embarrass myself (believe it or not) But tonight I really fancied something savory to eat.

Now I do watch what I eat so I don't often buy things in to just snack on and I don't really have a sweet tooth, but for some reason all I can find is bloody chocolate!

So found some mixed nuts and thought yum....Couldn't decide whether the sell by date was 2013 or 2016 or god knows what (but they tasted a bit funky)so in the bin, then I thought, maybe a pickled onion might hit the spot, then noticed they were a year out of date!

Are all singles like this or is it just me?

Nothing is out of date food wise in out cupboards as far as I'm aware. Sorry to be such an organised bore.

I'm not single and my cupboards are still a bit like this. I cleared out four half full opened jars of beetroot last week And a can of sardines from about 2010. What's more ridiculous is I've moved house twice since then.

Tins are fine unless damaged. Anything pickled should be fine unless opened

I can't afford to buy stuff I don't eat within a couple of months. The longest anything was in my cupboard was 6 months and that was lasagne pasta

I cleared out my cupboards in the summer and found a jar of gherkins with a use by of 2009. They must have been ancient, possibly decades old.

Spices lose their taste so although not dangerous to eat they are also pointless to use.

I have a panty type cupboard under my stairs that is my storage for tins and jars. I have a contents list on the wall and tick things off as I use them. Then add back on the right number after shopping.....

Do the same for the freezer contents.
