How do you feel about toilet attendants?
I feel a little bit embarrassed have somebody sat outside my cubicle and also if I'm paying for food and drink in a venue I think I should be able to use the facilities if needed without there being an extra expense. What is your view? |

I've never been anywhere in England where I've had to pay for the loo in a eating/drinking place.
However, I'm used to it as you pay everywhere in Belgium and and its a bloody free for all over there as well |

I find them annoying, they are like posh big issue seller begging for pound coins.
If someone has a fetish for smelling shit, or into scat, this is the perfect job.
I think there should be more dogs trained to sniff out drugs and bombs in general.
If you feel sick don't go out and remember to have a number 2 beforehand haha |

They are there to stop drugs being used or fights breaking out
Choose your venues a bit more carefully and you won't find them |

"I don't think I've been anywhere where there has been one. Clearly don't frequent the posh establishments. "
I was about to say the same thing, I can't think of anywhere I've been that has one |

Iv only seen bathroom attendants abroad and didn't have to pay. You could pay to buy things, like a squirt of perfume or hairspray or even just leave a little tip.
They often give you toilet roll too. |

Hate when your in clubs, especially when your washing your hands and they look at you like you should tip them, also when I'm in Brum city centre on the A4540 and at the lights these women will start washing the windscreen while the lights are on red, then expect a tip, I don't put screenwash in for nowt grrrrrrr |

"Ive been in pub toilets in the city where someone is there squirting perfume and you pay if you want a squirt but never had to pay to go to the loo."
I'd gladly pay for a squirter |

I don't appreciate it when the attendant is handing out toilet paper - I'm not going to tip someone for giving me a limited amount of something which should be available in the cubicle without charge or control of amount.
I do tip if they keep it particularly clean though only a little.
I've only really seen them in night clubs or in very exclusive places (like Mayfair hotels). |

They are in a lot of restaurants and clubs in London. And I find it really awkward as they're expecting a tip for passing a bit of toilet paper or handtowel.
I do feel for the attendants slightly as at least they are working and it's not a job most people would choose, but as a customer I do find it uncomfortable |

I can't stand them.
I don't tip them for standing there offering me stuff I don't want.
I want a piss and to wash my hands.
And I can work the taps myself thanks. |

"Sorry I didn't mean to confuse people with my original message.
I mean not being charged to use the toilet but expected to tip for toilet paper or a towel." in that case no I don't tip, I was confused because if you go to Belgium you do have to pay to actually use the loo everywhere you go, can get costly if you've drank a lot off coffee |

No, you're not. I suffer from it too.
It's embarrassing but I just use a cubicle which, to me at least, is better as you don't get splashed off other dudes next to you. |

I hear that shout of "Freshen up, freshen up" and I just know I'm about to get fleeced for a squirt of fake aftershave
I wonder what they would say if I asked them to shake my willy post wee (us men do that )
Now that would be truly great customer service |

"it's probably more to do with keeping the place clean and hygenic for everyone, but discouraging substance abuse is part of it too."
Also to a lesser degree vandalism. |
