To do with online dating, a person makes a fake profile and fools you into believing their identity.
There is no reason why it cannot be applied to any social media site. |

There's a tv series, following on from a film made by a guy who'd had it happen to him.
Some of the people string relationships along for years, never actually meeting, due to multiple excuses. And the duped person often falls in love, with the person they believe that they're dating, albeit never having met them. |

I,m not mentioning any sites but At least two popular ones I used, what you just explained exactly happened to me, but these people were Scammers and they got some of my Info By useing such tactics, even the admin Could not do anything about it it was rife on the site, they had litterally Taken the site over and it wasn,t free To use like here in any way. |

Yes. But the really bizarre thing was the guy who it turned out to be was more attractive than the fake pics, but had low self esteem so used pics of a guy who went to his gym. Really peculiar situation |

The film is on Netflix. It's very good, and quite touching. |
